What is the easiest way to trim out bodies ? scissors, knife ? got a new HPI RTR and trying to put it together, but the trimming of the body is a pain in a$$,,,,,any help would do

I use the hobby scissors from tower or a hobby knife. Dremel works well at low speed too

I'm all about the Dremel. I don't even own a pair of lexan scissors. The first body I cut out was with scissors, every body after that was ALL ABOUT the Dremel. I'll never used the scissors again. With teh Dremel, you can get into extremely fine detail with the right bits....
On the windsheild of my T-Maxx, instead of having the whole window cut out for air flow, I've got half cut out, while the other half is cut out to look like flames! It's pretty sweet.

Def a Dremal, much better resluts and with the right bits you can cut out, and then shave the edges smooth

Thanks for all the replies guys,,,,i guess i can chalk this first body up to trial an error,,,,,now i gotta worry about breakin in the motor

I use a metal carbide bit. Its about an 8th of an inch in diameter and about 1 1/2 inch long. WORKS AWESOME!

I use a diamond cut off disc to do a rough cut out, then do all the finish work with a sanding drum. Then when I am all done trimming, I hand sand all the edges smooth, lexan can cut you like a knife, so I like all my cut edges nice and smooth.

I use my dremel for the finishing touch ups with like the sander bit or something. I use my hobby knife. I don't cut all the way through. I just kind of go lightly along the lines. Do about 3 passes lightly. When I pull, it seems to tear clean where I cut. Then I can use my dremel to smooth out any areas that need be. Wheel wells or what not.

I'm still doing it the old fashion way, lexan sissors and I do all of the finishing with a couple of different grits of fine sandpaper.

I've got to try out my dremel.

I just cutout a body this weekend. I ended up using a combination of heavy duty sizzors for the bull work and the dremel sanding drum for the round parts and the cut off wheel for the small hard to get 90 degree stuff. I'll have to check out that metal carbide bit.
