Hi there,
I just bought a 4X4 Road Master r/c truck (same as
). This is the first time I have bought something where I have to open it to charge and it can be assembled, etc. So basically I am a total beginner with such more advanced r/c cars.
So when I opened the body, I found two connectors that were hanging loose. I connected the Wall charger to the connecor of the battery and let it charge for a few hours. can't say it was charging because there was no light indicator to tell that it was charging.
After that, I connected the two connectors together and moved the small switch on the side to ON position. Inserted batteries into the Remote and its lights came on. But the remote is not moving the car/truck. I am not sure if I am supposed to do any additional steps to make it work.
Can you please advise what I should be doing? I bought this from http://www.hobbytron.com/Electric1164x4RoadMasterRTRCrossCountryRCRacingTruck.html.
Really thank you in advance for your guidance!

Rohit

Resolved!

It turned out it was loose connections in the battery pack! Once I took out the pack and tried charging it, the light on the charger came on when I pressed the pack with hand.
So it turned out to be an easy solution to an easy newbie question!

One lesson learnt for newbies is that the instruction manual came with all details of assembling the truck from nuts and bolts and then doing some initial set up of the remote. I did think that may be the initial set up (like press a button for two seconds, this light will flash, then the other light will flash, etc.) was required and played with that; but in reality if the battery can charge, its really easy plug and play. Only some calibration is required to keep the truck going straight and all.

Rolex, thanks for the tip though!

Read, study and re-read your manual. How you treat a new battery will determine how long it lasts and how well it performs.
That also goes for the truck itself. Cleaning, lube and adjustments all play a part.
