Newbie: Need help on 4wd

Hi there.
First of all pardon my english, I'm from Denmark

Well I just bought a slightly used Kyosho MegaForce. It's great, maybe not as great as the very best, but I got it cheap, and I'm only just getting started in R/C.

The motor and stearing is running great, but I have a question concerning the four wheel drive. I'm not sure it's working. When I lift it up and throttle, only the back wheels are spinning. Even if I hold them tight I can't get the front wheels to spin.

How do I determen if my front wheel actually work, so that I have 4wd, and not just 2wd?

sounds to me like the front is not working at all , when you hold it off the ground and throttle it front and rear should spin, have you checked to see if the front driveline is in place??

Nope. Actually I was hoping that it was suppose to work this way, and that there was another explanation.
Just a moment. I'll just check if the shaft from the gearbox to the front wheels is spinning. Then I'll return.

It's not

From the gearbox exits two shafts. One that goes to the rear wheels, and one that goes to the front wheels. The one going to the front wheels, aren't moving at all.

...what to do?

Peeew I found out what was wrong.

It turned out that on the bracked where the shaft for the front wheels are mounted, a little unbracko screw has come loose.

The only thing I had to do was to turn the shaft so that the bolt would tighten on the flat surface of the shaft... and tighten it

Now put some Blue Loctite on that & the other drivecup set screws.... You got lucky, your cup stayed on the shaft....

Actually I thought about using locklite when I assempled it, but it turns out the drivecup can't seperate from the shaft. To seperate them you must remove either the gearbox or the differential.

So it can't break apart, just malfunction/glide, and should that happen, I just need to tighten the unbraco-bolt again.

But in the future whene I have it seperated for some other reason, I'll use locklite for sure.
