sox and shoes look great! Only bad thing about those tires is their compound is so stiff.

Thanks Lloyd! Actually these are pretty soft and sticky, they conform pretty good when crawling, and are actually just a tad on the soft side for bashing. Now, keep in mind, that's on a heavy Wraith too, probably 8lbs if I had to guess.

I'd probably sipe the lugs you left 2-3 times each for more side bite, but that's me, guess if you are using it as a basher tire it's probably not needed.

Rig looks great though.

Thanks man! Yeah, if they were just for crawling I would, but I think of these as more of a split paddle tire now. I have the Pits for pure crawling.

I made this a little while ago, prepare for ludicrous speed. :D

Well, parts have been trickling in, and with the radio SNAFU I decided to tear the Wraith down completely and do some work on it.

Kinda good I did, apparently I'm rough on equipment. :D

This should hold until I can get new covers. New housings don't come with covers either, LAME! (I also beveled the bottom edges of the diff covers to help keep them from hanging up and this happening again. Honestly, I don't see the plastic fantastic housings lasting with what I put them through with the pro4 power, but we'll see.)

I also built my servo winch tonight, start by tearing the servo apart, taking out the large main gear and grinding down the stop post (I tried removing mine, wasn't budging)

The, remove all the electronics

Once again, I turned to Al at HeyOK performance for my winch controller. Great guy to deal with, and will do custom work if needed (more on that later)

Solder the winch control leads to the motor and stuff everything back in the servo case

I then tapped the hole in the splined gear to 3mm so I could use a longer bolt I have on hand

I also made my own winch drum (bolt is just to hold it together until the epoxy dries)

I started waterproofing everything tonight also, getting ready for winter time play as well as SORRCA events next year

I've had a servo in a glass of water for over two weeks, no special treatment other than coating the board and pot with this. I didn't even use the O rings on re-assembly, using nothing but this stuff. It was recommended by the owner of Holmes Hobbies (not this specific brand, but silicone conformal coating in general)

The sensor board on the pro4

and everything else, just forgot to take pics along the way when I got to the servos. I'll post more when I get it back together, and figure out where I'm going to mount my new home made winch.

Looking great Randy!

Hey nice build, quick couple questions though. A. How do you apply the coating? B. How do you like your pro4?

I'm liking the sc4x, for the simple reason that its all red, and I've seen a vid on the tube where someone is crawling with a MERV that's sporting one.

Thanks man. The coating has a brush inside the jar and you just brush it on and let it dry. I love my pro4, it still crawls pretty good being sensored, and when you grab a lot of trigger it's a beast. I don't buy motors based on what color they are, I buy them based on proven performance. There's an 80 page thread on another site on motor and esc choice for the Wraith, if you want brushless, the pro4 or ROC412 (which is solid red BTW) are the best two options currently out there.

I've done a lot to the Wraith lately, I have pics of a lot of it, just need to go through them and get them re-sized and I'll post up the goods. Anyway, here she is in the new livery at the T1e RC compound over Thanksgiving. It did pretty well, other than smoking my steering servo, which branded my fingers it was so hot. :hehe: (no the dash still isn't in there, I'm not quite done yet, and was in a hurry :D)

How much taller are those tires than the stockers??? Looks great, those aluminum panels are killer!

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with the aluminum panels also, I think they go well with the polished lip on the wheels. Yes, they are a 2.2 tire, they're the Pit Bull Rock Beast II to be exact. The axial ripsaws are 5 3/8" diameter, and the pits are 5.75". They perform very well in everything but muddy conditions.

That is one nasty Wraith bro, we need a video of that thing!

Looks perfect in my opinion.

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. I'm waiting on a new steering servo, and new rear axle shafts (I bent one :D) and I'll get some video of it in action.
