Nice Tip do that make that in a 9 1/2 inch tall can? I am thinking I could dip something else in there :cheeky: X

Excellent idea. Next time I decide to take my T-Maxx on a submarine run, I'll have to get some of that plastic dip stuff.

I know that stuff is thick, I used it on some of the handles of my tools but I would be afraid that the stuff would get into my servos and gum up the gears real good, or even worse, get into my reciever :OMG:

Good Point I do admit now that you said that it makes me wonder also. X

The stuff is thick so it wont get past any small creveses,
I have used this in the past with my boat and planes. So far to date I have not seen a problems with this. I have ran it with my servo compartment almost filled with water in my boat (darn logs). Planes dont matter much. But the truck is great, Go ahead and splash through the mud and puddles and hop through the snow.

Best thing is, there waterproofed now.

Also thanks for summitting my tip. :cheeky:

Just dont get all crazy and think about dipping an ESC or RX. Seen a couple that were blown or 'cooked' because of this. Servos=Yes. ESC or RX=NO.

Good Tip!

right. would be nice if you could dip it all.

for the reciever box on the T-maxx, I applied silacone around the the sealing edge then put the cover on and screwed it shut. I also applied silacone around the wires comming out of the reciever box.

The dip does not get gummed up in the servo gears...especially if you follow this tip.

WD-40 will keep the water from getting on the outside of the case, but will not prevent it from penetrating the case at any screw hole, seam, or through the top where the drive axle for the servo comes out.

Great question. WoodiE will have to answer that one...it seems to have disappeared.

It seem to me that dipping servo's into something that resembles glue ..would not be good for them as the take off and silicone method not ...I personlly am not into buying servo's evertime I go out in the rain with my Truck. There has to be a good solution to this delema

I'll have the actual water proofing tip up today - Mike thanks for pointing this out for me bud!

Glad you noticed this thread. I just realized that I was supposed to send you a PM on this topic, and got sidetracked.
