Nice truckee bro :)

I'd just keep the standard stereo and listen to the engine, but I'm a little odd like that :)

Yea, but that turbo whine gets annoying on the interstate after a few hours.

And i dont care about my threads being jacked, as long as you have somthing to say, instead of random ass numbers and letters, speak your mind.

Yup. There is something to be said about getting past the magical 35yr old mark... insurance gets super cheap.

35! You are old :D

While I'd like to upgrade my stock speakers in the truck, my days of having big stereo's, subs, and amps are over. That said it's hard to find good aftermarket speakers that will properly work on a factory head unit.

Nonetheless I do like the sound of my truck as well. I think once I get the new air intake and exhaust it will sound real purtty! :)

My main reason for getting new head unit, is that i wana play my ipod over the radio without using an FM Modulator.

Ill trade you a nice JL W7 12, in a custom box, for somthing with a little bit of thump behind the back seat..........

what size u want i have to 10 truck boxes sitting that I'm not using
they fit good behind my seat and i can get you two 10 jl w1

on a side note yesterday at work dude put 4 w7 12s in som car nasty

Thats the plan. Insane i was waiting for you to pipe up n say somthin......

I'm lookin for a good ipod ready head unit, and some good speakers to put in the stock locations. Not gona run any subs i dont think.

u want to just play the ipod and u want to control it from the headunit

I would never put sony in my truck. what other brands of recievers yall got. I dont put cheap crap in my rides......

Go big, or go home. Some lil punk kid pulld up and tries to "beat up" on me, i wont try to compete. ill just run him over in my big ass truck..

It's all about the speakers. When I removed the Pioneer tuner/cassette deck and installed the Pioneer tuner/CD unit, nothing changed other than the media I carried in the car.
I went back 2 days later and replaced the 4 factory speakers with 3-way Alpines, and WOW! What a crisp and responsive sound! I paid more for the speakers than I did for the head, but worth every cent and then some.

When I did a system in my first car I did entry level components ( from reputable makes of corse) but spent big money on the highest quality wiring and connectors I could afford. I was very happy with the sound quality for the type of music that I listen to and if I were to do another system I would spend the dough in the same manner.

alpine or eclipse head units are great. i think the alpines are easy to navigate and they really cater to the ipod crowd. i ran Jl audio subs and amps with boston acoustic components.

Pioneer all the way baby! That is all I have ever installed in my rides as far as head units go. My current receiver has built in crossovers and filters along with sub control!

My current sub is a Pioneer Premier IMMP Gold 10" and that sum bitch pounds in a MTX ported box!!! Infinity Kappa 6.5" components in the front and Pioneer Premier 4.5" 3 ways in the rear round out my speaker system.

Power is via an Alpine 50x2 for the rear, an AudioBahn 150x2 for the front and a AudioBahn Dub 800 watt mono for the sub.

I love it when a neophyte gets in my ride. "Wow! I didn't know anything this loud could sound so clear."

Like mine was. :)

Update: Just got home with the new truck, had to drive her around all afternoon to "get the feel of her". Put 150 miles just driving around. Its AMAZING!!!
