I'm new on the scene and dont know much at the moment but I'm learning so any help would be greatly appreciate.
the problem that i have is that when i switch on my transmitter is causes my engine to open the throttle all the way. this happens when the engine isnt running and also when its running!

anyone know why this is happening and how to fix the problem?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you switch your receiver & transmitter on, do you have any control of the steering/throttle/brake? If you have no control, and the throttle just goes to wide open, then there's a signal or battery issue. If you have some control, then I would reset all the servos to center, the radio adjustments to 0 and change all batteries in car & radio. Let us know what you find..

the tips Imbroken just gave would be the first place to start.....I've got some questions first....

is this a brand new nitro? If yes, Bring it back to the shop and see if they can trouble shoot it instead of you possibly messing something up (not alot of chance that could happen though so don't freak out)

Have you pulled any servo wires from the Receiver out?
you may have switched one servo lead around and are providing the signal wire w/ 4vdc and it's thinking that is 100% open command...

Just guessing, but sounds like the servo needs reversed. Look on your TX and see if there is a switch to reverse the servo. Flip that and see if it settles it down any. Also, like Imbroken mentioned, set your trims to 0 and center your servos.

i have touched anythin on the car to do with th servos etc. car came as ready to run, as i said i dont know anythin as of yet but hoing to learn more as i go.

Imbroken: i have control of the steering but do not have any control over the throttle at all.

monkey wrench: how do i know if the servo needs reversed?

Look at the radio there will be two or more switches...Find them One will have a st and the other will have a th beside them..Flip the switch that has the TH beside it this will reverse the throttle servo..

I am guessing that this is a stock am radio.....

when I first put batteries in my RTR,,I had to reverse the throttle servo switch on the transmitter,,check that

not an echo Zandor, simply a helpful agreement ;)

If this were a conversation, I could have put emphasis on saying such, but I can't even nod in agreement as there is no visual,,,

i just reversed the throttle servo switch and it didnt do anything. but when i switch the steering servo switch it changes the steering. does this mean that the throttle servo is stuffed?

Is the throttle servo plugged in to the throttle port on the RX and not the aux port?
I accidently did this when installing a failsafe.

problem solved guys. my throttle servo was stuffed, replaced with new one and all good.
thank you very much for your help, greatly appreciated.
