I have a nitro rc traxxas 4tec..problem is when i turn on the switch in the car to activate steering/throttle it wont respond to my controller..i know its not the batteries because i just replaced them.

Some things i found out :

1. When i turn on/off the sterring/throttle on the car the gear moves and throttle adjust.

2. When i turn on my controller and turn on and off the switch in the car it doesn't adjust anymore i think it has something to do with the servos or something..if you want me to include more details just tell me what to explain to you. Thanks for reading and hope you help me fix my problem =)

Check for loose crystals. If that isn't the problem, and your still using the 4 aa battery holder, upgrade to a 5 cell nimh pack. If that isn't it, could be your receiver. Sounds like there is power getting to the system.

hmm..crystals seems to be in place and yes I'm still using the 4 aa battery and what do u mean by this? "Sounds like there is power getting to the system". dont you mean "No power" going to the system? and were can i get the 5 cell nimh pack?

Check for loose wires coming from your batteries. I meant if the servos are twitching when you turn it on, it probably isn't the batteries. Though a rechargeable pack will make a night and day difference with how the servos perform. Look for loose wires I'd say. Are you sure the tx is powering up? Did the car get wet by chance?

OH! I think its when i poured fuel into the tank and i kinda of missed and it kinda spilled all over the tank and i guess i didn't know were excessive fuel went so i kinda tilt it sideways and fuel came running through the sides...Dammit it probably touch the cables and stuff...am i screwed??? :\

i got this one matt,
No your not screwed but you want to make sure that you have all the wires in place and nothing is loose on the reciever, crystals, servo connections, and power supply also make sure that none of your wires are broken, and as matt said it would be in your best intrest to get a 5 cell NiMh pack for your as your power pack for that machine (you can get them from just about any hobby shop or online, you just need to know if you need a "hump" style pack or a "stick" style pack, if memory serves me correctly i would probably say its a stick style pack, because most of the traxxas vehicles i have seen have used stick, with the exception on 1 or 2. I hope this helps you

The fuel may have shorted the receiver. You could pop it open and clean it with electrical contact cleaner and let it dry for a while. If you have access to another rx, swap it in and see if it's the problem. If not, a new one can be had cheap on fleabay.
