New to me rig. Trx4 sportish

Well I grabbed another TRX4 in sport flavor this time. Got a decent deal on it. Sold a bunch of bits off it and have begun to change it to what i had in mind. Got a beat up set of amazon rims from a buddy and glass blasted them and then alodined them to color and slightly polished the bead lock rings. Added lead weight inside. Tossed in a HW 1080 and a Reedy 17t until my Holmes motors show up. Put on aluminum shockmounts and keys to run full droop or whatever you wanna call it. Haha. Rearranged everything inside and made electronics tray and battery tray/mount from kydex. Then tossed on a proline cliffhanger body until I can decide if I want to hardbody it. This truck will be more performance oriented so my defender can go more scale and trail.

Got my ierc sliders in and switched over the gmade wheels to see if I like them better

Awww man, I thought the original rims looked great. But sometimes you have to try different stuff to see what YOU like best. Those sliders should help protect the body pretty well.

Yea the other rims def looked better on here and the gmades look better on my defender. Just trying different weights to get the setup right and disassembling and reassembling beadlocks is a pain. . Next I will probably pull all the weight out of the rears of the original rims and try them again. I moved my battery more forward but in order to do so I had to raise it on top of the tranny (gender neutral gear case). I will be putting it back where I had it after todays test run as my side hill ability suffered. Not much but enough to move it back.

Good looking rigs. Seems you and I are in the same boat. I have a defender rebodied to a raptor for my wife and I have a sport I'm working on to replicate my full size f150

Well I got an offer on the sport build yesterday so it is now sold. . Started ordering parts to build another. I may enjoy building them as much as running them

I'm waiting on my sport rtr to be deliverd, also just ordered a Cherokee hard body for it, I'm not so performace, I'm more scale, either way, the trx4 is a good base to do whatever you want with.

Absolutely great base. I am going for more scale as well with my defender. Working on finishing my hard body for it now.

I'm thinking about trying to get a more scale wheel and tire, trying to build it in a way you would do a real one, in the real world the trx4 tires would be daft like 37 inch by 15inch, in reality the cherokee came with 225\75\15, here in the UK i would of fitted some M/T tires 32's still on the oem 15 inch wheel

@Theekorr Lookin' forward to seeing what you do with it. So far, being fairly new to crawlers, I have only had rtr's.
