i recently bought a rs4 rtr3 made by hpi off of ebay and i dont really know
anything about it. was wondering what rs4 rtr3 stood for and if it is a good car
it has a .15fe engine tunable dual exhaust pipe and tx-2 controller is this a good controller? i am completley new to r/c cars let alone nitro any help
or information anyone could give me about this car would be appreciated
also what are differences between the evo and ss

thank you

rs4 is just the car rtr stands for ready to run whihc means it came pre built the 3 is for that this is the third edition of the car (my best guess) the evo whihc i have comes wiht their new t-15 engine a roto start so you dont have to pull to start it up. a 2 speed transmission and that about it for the evo I'm not too sure about the ss

The FE is a dog. Not the best engine but will help you get better driving and controling the car. Now the Evo has a few options to get like Fridge said. THe SS is the kit version and needs to be assembled. The kit has no or electronics. It comes with turnbuckles, 2 speed tranny and maybe bearings. It also comes withthe SS 12 engine.
Hope this helps

Jon

i have heard that the .15fe is a dog it has had a 2 speed trans installed said it would
go 60mph is this possible
what would be the best engine for this car once i get the hang of it that is

Well are we talking about going downhill? I don't think it would be possible with that engine. Ask Kwong2001 or Diver. Both own them and can attest to each of their own.

nope.. that engine doesn't make it to the 60.

i got a rs4 3ss. its the same car as yours only i build it.
the car is great. one of the best bash/ parkinglot cars around.
iam driving it with the hpi pro rear exhaust engine. its way more powerfull then yours. iam getting around the 60 so i think yours wil be below it. still great engine tho.

there are plenty of hopups to go by. so you can make your car faster and for better control.

Do you have the venom speed meter to prove this? This an age old thing to claim but we want PROOF!!!!

I have the RS4 3 RTR, but I have since replaced a few key pieces. I added the two speed tranny, THS one piece tuned pipe, adjustable turnbuckles, cvds, a 5 cell receiver pack, and a mip clutch. The rest is mostly stock, I am still running the 15 fe in it because I only use it as a parking lot basher, so this engine owes me nothing, I have beat the crap out of it for about three years now, and it still keeps on going. I have replaced the carb with an OS 10 e carb though, this made the mill run much better. I do however have an OS .15 CVX Hyper ready to put in it once the stock mill does go. The shaft drive in the RS4 3 RTR is great for parking lots, streets, etc, Belt drives on these surfaces are not the best, one small pebble or rock and the belt is gone. It is not a racer by any means but is one hell of a great parking lot basher car, especially if this is your first car. The radio is the stock am radio, its not a bad radio at all, but it is a basic am radio. Check out www.wolfpackradicals.com they have some real nice accessories for this car.

RS4 means Road Star 4-Wheel drive. I just thought I'd tell you, not real important. And yes, the RTR 3 means it is ready to run and it is the 3rd generation of the RS4 onroads. Just a lil info :D

I also have this car, except I havew the SS. I have since added an XTM .18 in this car and now it really flies. Right now it's almost a drifter (not really) because I got the wrong compound tires. It has almost no traction, its fun though.

As for the TX-2, same as the Airtronics Blazer Sport, I have the same one and I haven't had a runaway yet. If you have any questions just ask. Good luck.

thanks for the info i havent recieved this car yet should be here in a few days
and i can't wait to try it out they said that they had replaced the piston and sleeve
just recently and broke it in by idling 5 tanks of fuel through is this the correct way
to break it in, and i am not sure what type of fuel they used and if have read that if you change fuels you should run the new brand at half the normal break in period before running it hard is this true, and what is the best bran of fuel to use

thanks

Find out what percentage of nitro he ran in it. If you run the same, it won't need the extra break in just for a brand change. O'donnell, Blue Thunder, Trinity, they're all good.
Just to be on the safe side, keep it a little rich and stay off full throttle for a few tanks.

i would run it on 20 % i really doubt if they 30% but you never know i would start it out on 20 there should be no problem doing this!!

i went back and looked at the description 20% is what they ran in it i think i will
stick with that. i was wondering what some common problems for these cars might be
things that i should look for.

well the hobby is alot of fun i have been racing and destroying cars my whole life lots of fun lol any way you if it is a brand new car you shld break it in no doubt about that but run it for about 5 tanks u want it rich and after you do that let the car cool off. Now listen very importaint make sure you test every thing out adn then make your turning and start up all rite and perfect and the controller i dont now any thing about recivers (only cars) Thank you

i drove my own real car behind it. thats real proof. the venom meter aint 100% accurate. you need to calibrate the settings of that thing.
the meter of my car might be 1kmh off but it went close to 100. caculate that into mph. thats over 60

and iam not that stupid and just saying my car goes 60 just by looking at it.
