hey all, I'm used to nitro vehicles. but i figured id expand and buy a hpi sprint 2 flux. thing is stock. I'm running a Venom 7.2v nimh 4200. the first maybe 5 times i ran it, it was faaasstt everything i thought it would be with only a 7.2. but then now with a charged battery it wont accelerate quickly. i can go about quarter throttle then anymore it stops. like it doesn't have the power to move it. i thought maybe my pack was faulty maybe not getting a charged. my lhs checkd it out n said the pack is fine. I'm useing a vision peak 2 (thing is GARBAGE) 6cell 4amps for 40 mins my lhs says it needs for a full charge. so i charge it and the same thing happens it barley moves. I'm useing a dx3s system so i messed with the throttle trim.. same problem. now i can kind of diagnose a nitro engine but I'm new to electric so I D K what to do. such a waste of money because i can't use the friggin thing. ANY help would me MUCH appreciated. thanks all i tried to give all the information i could if you need to know anything else just ask.

Try reprograming the Flux ESC. Should be noted in the manual. I am sure that there is a trouble shoot section.

flux, if it's brushless, plug in the castle link and make sure your volts for lipo are not checked.. for low level cutoff, that's what it sounds like it is

Remember that when you reprogram your ESC you want all the settings for the throttle at neutral and all at 100%.

I agree with x_doug_x. The LiPo cutoff may be kicking in when it's not suppose to. I had this happen to me when I first had my Novak ESC. I quickly changed the settings after and it was fixed. Let us know how it goes.

my esc does not have a port to connect into my computer. http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/instr/pdf/100422.pdf page 3 on there.

if it really is the lipo on off thing thats screwing this up i guess ill just walk through that. but the manual does not have a trouble shoot section. if this doesn't fix it I'm selling the pain in the ###. ITS ELECTRIC ITS SUPPOSED TO BE EASY!

alright so i have a video of what the problem is.
when i put the car on the ground it barley moves at all. like the motor has no battery juice or torque.

just got off the phone with hpi technical support. he said to call castle, calling now.

guy at castle says. the battery pack I'm useing can not discharge fast enough for the esc, so it is possible it damaged teh capacitors in my esc. he said my venom 4200 7.2 is nto reccomended by castle to run on their systems because it is only sport grade i need a high performance pack. he pointed me to www.cheapbatterypacks.com and set me up with a high quality pack from elite http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/tstuff/v7/buildcustompack.asp?sid=1595484# he suggested buying a new high performance pack and trying it out, that if i still have the same problem to send my esc out to hpi because it is covered under their warranty. we'll see.

Good luck with that. Hope the new battery pack works.

That makes sense, though I see no fault of yours. The new bat/esc technology is quite a bit different these days. What happened to just using the proper voltage packs, with higher capacity equaling more performance? POWER is what happened. This thread should be read by every brushless newbie like myself to save some future headaches. Thanks for the great info Mikey.
