engine / exhaust setup questions ?

I've decided to go with this new setup. just because i hear excelent reports about reliability and power along with customer service from Fantom.

Engine = Fantom .12 R ps (should i get the s?, only difference is carb style)
Pipe = Fantom Dual Stage Chrome tuned pipe
Tranny = HPI heavy duty 2 speed (looking for input on gearing for parking lot cruisin and fooling around)

does this sound like a good setup so far ? i want something fast , but i want it to also not explode when i screw around with it. i was looking at STS , but something about these fantoms keeps comming back to me. please give any oppinions or substitutions on what you may think to be better. thanks


also , I'm going to get hte pipe soon , possibly for easter , i was wondering what manifold i should get to adapt it to my nitro star .15 fe (rear exhaust)

Unfortunately I dont have any experience with the products mentioned. However, most dual chamber pipes, especially when 'brand matched' to the mill, usually kick ass.

Ill see what I can find on the gearing for that ride.

Good choice! But you didn't say what this is going in. I have the FR-15 in my T-Maxx. I did not like the Fantom Rotary carb (I am using the Traxxas carb on mine) I did see that Fantom has a new rotary carb though. The Fantom is an RPM Monster! 40,000 out of the 15! If you are using it in an on-Road car, it should FLY!! You might want to let NCNitro know how it goes, because he's looking to do the same to his on-roader. Let us all know what you think. (Can you get a 15 in whatever it is you're putting it in? If so, DO IT!!)
