yeah I have no stock servos at all :( BUT! I figure I will take a bit more time to complete the build and then get what I want and the truck needs. the savox I was looking at was over 400. for stearing and for throttle/brake. was 277 I believe.

Looks to be the K4.6 engine. I am currently building a SS Savage kit, with engine. I also had the same problem with the clutch bell, when I tightened down the set screw in crank it would lock up the clutch bell. I had to use a thinner shim lucky I had one, because you need that srew as tight as you can get it and make sure to make good use of some blue loctite on screw.

High Speed Low Drag:whhooo:

What I found out was I didn't tighten down the flywheel on that brass collar tight enough but now that I did it works alright I think.

The guys at my LHS said that about the throttle servo. It did seem a bit excessive. But I am a newbie so it is what I was going on.

Lipo for savage.

what Lipo batt to get for my savage? I've been reading around and searching the forums and havent found a difinative answer on a decent hump pack lipo's that will fit into the holder on my savage..

I took your sugestion Greaywolf and got the AC680 charger, and the lipo for the Flysky Controller. and the servos you suggested. just looking to power them the their fullest. :D

your flysky RX mit not like it if you go over the combined torque of 419oz I got power glitching , I tryed this on three different flysky RX and samething , I switch servo's for a combined torque of 367oz and was ok

hmm well a little late for that stearing is just over 400 and throttle is 150 there abouts. just looking to power them well.. and have fun.

any suggestions on a good hump pack or where to find on the hobby site I couldnt really find one? 7.4v?

If these are the two servo's and RX you picked up
Savox SV-0220MG 6.0v to 7.4v
Savox SA-1283SG 4.8v to 6.0
flysky RX 4.8 to 6.0v
if you go 7.4 pack you mit smoke the Savox SA-1283SG and the flysky RX
with 6.0v you will be safe , I just picked up some 6.6v li-fe packs but din't have time to test it on the flysky RX to see if it can take it so I can't say for sure on the 6.6v onto I run some test .
To cold the run out side , so this weekend I'll do some simulated testing with the 6.6v .

you are ABSOLUTELY correct and i do not want to break anything like that if i can prevent it so i was searching for 6v packs to fit my X. I've seen some venom packs. and some other brandless ones. are they good or would you recommend others?

They are good or Orion marathon battery, just try to find a 1900 which will give you about 2 or 3 hrs of bashing.

These are good budget packs and the price is right. Tenergy makes good cells for the money.

Just run your electronics on 6Vs. 90oz/in is plenty of torque to run your throttle and brake. The stock servo only has 62oz/in and .18 sec speed. If you really wanted to though you could get a lipo RX pack and a BEC then power your HV servo on 7.4V while powering everything else at 6V. The wiring is a little tricky as you would have to splice a couple of servo extension together and mod another one. Id start will just running everything on 6V though as it will probably be fine for you.

When you decide on or purchase a controller with receiver check to see that it 7.4 lipo capable or have to use a voltage regular

thank you for the suggestion greywolf i appreciate it! I will be purchasing some of those. I'm just goin to run 6v easier that way.just waiting on my remote to come in. got my savox steering servo yesterday and WOW it is a beast. 416oz-in torque. a bit noisy but so far so good!

I got a flysky remote on the way, and the throttle servo is the one you recommended

Finished it! Now to buy some fuel and break it in thank you all for the assistance with my first build!
