Okay so I'm interested in buying a savage and think I would greatly enjoy building one. My question is what is all needed to finish it, I know it needs a radio, batteries, fuel, and all the usual stuff for nitro which I have already. But what about the servos? And do I need 3, 2 for steering and one for throttle? Can you put the new big bores on them or you stuck with the 8 smaller Size one's.

these are what I've been running lately and very happy with them so far but I needed to bump up to a lipo RX pack
SAVSC1257TG for throttle/brake , SAVSC1256TG for streeing

Thats not a bad servo to use in your savage but if you have the money Id recommend spending an extra 15-20 bucks and getting the Savox SA1283SG.

Sc1256TG:
277oz/in and .15 Speed

SA1283SG:
417oz/in and .13 speed

Personally I like my MTs to have over 400oz/in of torque and since the Savvy only has one steering servo Id recommend spending the extra 15-20 bucks on it, not that the 1256TG wont work :)

Yes your clutch bell should spin freely. You may not of shimmed it correctly.

right what the company is thinking is give you some better parts off the start than the rtr models and leave out the servos, remote, reciever

Well yeah I knew that, it's just the shop I usually order from doesn't have servos listed as what's needed to complete it. That and hpi's website doesn't work to good on my tablet so I hate going there.

I've had my eye on that servo for a while , just mit have to pick one up this summer I been putting it of because of how fast them higher torque servo drain the battery pack , what battery and how much run time do you get with that 1283sg

I actually dont have that one as much as I wish I did. Only reason I dont is because i found a Savox SC1268MG on eBay NIB for $70 shipped. So, I bought it instead cuz I was short on cash at the time. I run it on a 1000mAh 2S lipo. I've never really timed it but it last for a considerable amount of time.

SC1268MG @ 7.4V:
347oz/in and .11 speed

Its not the 400+ that I like to have but it is fine. If anything ever happens to it though I will get the SA1283SG.
