New Ride, Bandit VXL

Hey Everyone. I picked up a roller Bandit VXL today for my youngest. It didn't have a motor or an ESC. I am looking for suggestions on a brushed motor and ESC that will take a Lipo that is fairly cheap. He doesn't need brushless yet.

Check out the eBay chop shops. You can pick up a stock traxxas esc and motor pretty cheap. I think I'm going to get a couple Castle Sidewinders for my kids. Then we can go brushless when they're ready. I'm sure there's a hundred options, but in my experience Castle and Traxxas have killer customer support and that means more to me than saving a couple dollars.

That is what I was thinking...just didn't want to miss out. I don't know much about electrics...my experience ended when with my Frog back in the 80's.

A good thing about the stock Traxxas ESCs have a "Training Mode" that limits the vehicle to 1/2 throttle.
