how could they handle like crap, what do u mean? and whats wrong with the stock radio?

man that dragster doesn't go faster than the rustler =\

I'm not going to get into a pissing match why the Losi or AE is BETTER than the Rusty. So just go look at ALL of the sanctioned races held in the past 3 years and look if there were even any Rusty's to start with, much less, one in the winners circle.

Yeah its a great starter ride. But, if you want all out balls AND quality AND control, go Losi or AE.

Christian looks like he made up his mind, you know...don't confuse me facts my minds already made up. Dude get the Rusty, that way in a month when your pissing and moaning about it we can all abuse you, seriously get the rusty. X needs a new target anyway :D You started off wanting a streetcar and have been talked into a rusty by Mayhem :ha

Honestly, the only Nitro ride I like by Traxxas is the TMaxx. And thats a money pit for me.

I just prefer to spend a wee bit more up front, and get the quality parts in the first place.

True true.... He should be getting an AE TC3 RTR or the Losi XXX or the RS4, but, he's going Rusty. Wanted onroad right?!?! I dunno, I'm lost.

I'm no more than a :llama: at this point.

:llama: Uh oh better watch out for Eddy, you remember the pics fron Vegas :D

BTW I agree with you on the T-Maxx, and had the Savage been out before I bought my T, I would be sporting a Savage right now. That WILL be my next purchase as soon as the $$$ are there, lol. My T is a money pit too! Not to say the Savage won't be but I WANT ONE!

Have you ever been?:ha
Just move to TX and you will be in good company.

I'm also considering dumping my NEW Maxx and going for the Savage Upgrade. I'm holding off untill the new AE MT comes out.

Look man speed is not everything. Race a rusty sure it will got faster than a stock TL or AE but they will pass you everytime you get to a corner cause you will be waiting for the cornet marshall to flip your brick back on it wheels.

Now get back to the orginal thing what do you have to drive the car on.. Lots of pavement parking lots of offroad. X

see, the thing is, i dont want a monster truck. so the tmaxx and savage are out of my criteria.

the 2 people i talked to about the rustler who have one, say theres nothing wrong with it so i dunno.

i would get an onroad card, but man i have a feeling the pebbles and rocks ont he road will destroy it. besides, you guys said its not fun.

I want it to be fast, and I'm not gonna race it. i just want a fast car, I'm infatuated with speed.

I didn't talk to him into it. We talked on AIM and he told me that he didn't want to race he just wanted speed. If that is the case then I think the Rustler is a nice option. He stated a couple times that he didn't want to race, so why bring up the corner marshel issue? Its not somthing he is worrying about.

We talked about AE and TL and said that the Rustler is faster but the other two manufac have better control.

I am not a die hard RC fan I don't have expensive radios and all that jazz I feel that the stock radio is fine.

I think you should just go to a track and see how they run(not racing wise) just to see it. And then make your decision. Talk to people at the HS and tell them what you wanna do with your RC and tell them what you where looking for.

This is just what I think but who knows I'm just a character from King of the Hill.

Click Here I also showed him this Vid does any one have any more of AE or TL?

^^makes the most sense to me outta everyone. i will ask my HS tho, for sure.

I'm still not sure how the others have better handling...in what sense? if i go top speed with my rustler and make a quick turn will it flip?

OMG i just saw that video..insane...how can u guys say its not durable, when i wont be using it for anything close to that extreme and it withstands that? lol

50 is good. i would be a lot more content with 60 but i want a stadium truck.

I don't mean to be a dink here, but didn't you say that you are new to RC? Can you even handle that kind of speed? When I first got into it, I thought I wanted the fastest thing out there. I had no idea what it took to handle a real RC. I ended up with a T Maxx, and had a hard time controling that thing at first. Trees would jump out at me, I would constantly flip it over. I even wanted to flip it during break in. Having said that, you might want to consider something that will handle well, and when your driving skills merit, upgrade the engine to get more speed.

Dave you make a good point. That would hurt to hit a tree. But thats why they make throtles so you can go slower he doesn't have to go full speed right out of break in.

I havn't had that many flip overs with mine but I have had some. It just slides like crazy.. Ohh yeah thats bc i was driving on slippery roads.

well ill be usin it in open field and streets. I'm pretty sure ill be able to handle it.

does it have reverse?

Nitro 4tec NO!!!!!

I have owned the 4tec for a month now, I followed break in to the T, This is the most finniky motor on the market today, dont listen to what those good folks at traxxas tell ya! No matter how you tune this car, it only runs when IT wants to, for one! My 4 tec ran great for the first few tanks, then started to run way too hot, it would quit and never restart, then if you try and adjust to weather and performance, the car becomes a total dog, lean it up a little and it stalls on acceleration, richen it down a bit and it runs like a sloth!, the best thing to do if you decide to by this car is to leave it a factory settings all the time, once you adjust this carb even a little the motor turns into a little biotch! I have run almost a gallon of fuel through this car, I have never had a decent running day where I can shut the car off and go home, there is always something I have to get or do to this car, I would recomend the tc3 just like everyone else, I mysef am looking at hpi,tc3,cen,ofna,schumacer or serpent for my next car. the 4tec sounded like a good car, but I should have returned it when I saw the servo was wrapped in a rubber childrens balloon instead of a decent servo box with a clip lock on it! Like all the other cars do! Yes the 4 tec is very fast out of the box, and even faster on the way to the hobby shop! Its a good car to learn on but it has a very toyish feel to it, all the other brand name rtr,s have more of a quality well built feel to them, spend a few extra bucks for a much better car, they are out there! good luck!

I know you're just starting out and want to blow by and do donuts around the other people on your block with the Radio Shack cars, but please remember, the speed is extremely difficult to control when you're new. Going even 30+ mph, a curb/tree/car will come up on you faster than you realize. Sure, you can get a 4Tec to do 60mph+ out of the box, but for a complete begginer, you're seriously going to regret it. You'll run into everything out there and spend every dime you have trying to fix it. You'll be fixing it more than you'll be playing with it and it will all drive you to hate the hobby.
Nothing teaches you how an RC vehicle works like building one yourself. But then again many will say that RTR is the way to go for a noobie.
My fist RC was a nitro RS4. Man did I love that thing. I had it for about a year before I got my Tmaxx. I'll tell you what man, there's nothing like being able to go wherever the hell you want to and not have anything stop you. With the cars you're limited to pavement only. Once you hit that grass, you'll be walking after it to go set it back on the street. Some people prefer this. Me, I'd rather go wherever the hell I want to.
You say you don't want a monster truck. Ok, well than I'd personally reccomend a stadium truck. Like said before, no doubt go with the Losi XXXNT or the Team Associated RC10 GT. They're great RC's. I promise you, once you get playing with one you'll appreciate the handling more than you think now. They're also both extremely upgradeable, so when you do want more speed, or to take higher jumps, or to handle better there are tons of options out there for you to personally choose from.
There is a lot more to these than just buying a vehicle and putting fuel in it. Please listen to the advice from people who have been there. Everyone here is here to help you. Geez, look at the 40 responses you've gotten in like 4 hours.
It's all about having fun man, good luck with whatever you choose.
