Yes I had a similar issue... I used my dremel tool and ground the metal down on the slipper so that my clutch pinion did not grind on the metal. At the time I was running a 20 t cluthch pinion (huge diameter) and a 34t spur (very small diameter - smaller than the metal holding slipper pads) thus causing mesh interference. After the dremmeling to grind down, no further issues. Although that gear ratio did create a lot of heat on the clutch (motor ran great, but the 3shoe clutches for revos are not like the beefy 4 shoes that truggies use), so I burned up a clutch before settling on a 17 t clutch pinion and 36t spur which was perfect. My revo performed like a truggy jumping and high speed travel.

I'm using the 16/40 combo from RRP and have liked it so far.You guys are right on that mount, there is hardly any room for adjustment, I tried the old mount RB 323 that it used to have but it was to small as well. Also, there is barely any room for the air filter as well, its very close to the spur!

Also my buddy is or was running piggyback shocks on his but with the new Picco the cool head sits to low for the piggyback part of the shock to clear and allow the engine to bolt tightly to the engine mount!

Its supposed to be a drop in replacement, I guess what that means is, it is a drop in replacement as long as your Revo is completely stock!:D

If you are having air filter clearance issues I would suggest a motor saver filter , the neck is a bit longer and it works way better than the trx one.

CAUSTION: I'D HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THE MOTORSAVER filters.... Absolutely, no technical proof these things are any better. In fact, I bought one (along with replacement air filters) for my Revo a month or two back. I tell you, the tolerances are not good - potential air gaps in more than one place. The chassis brace arm was also too small. There is nothing wrong with the TRX air filter. I have the brand new LOSI 8ight T 3.0 as well. I compared the air filters and the TRX air filter looks to be slightly larger - almost identical design. If it ain't broke - don't fix it... MOTORSAVER gave me a full refund for my product including return shipping - no way I'd run my Novarossi engine or OFNA JL .28 MAX on that product. Spend way too much money on these motors for gimmickly product (too much gimmicky stuff in this hobby as it is like the nitro engine super charger). That is just my 2 cents...

I ran over 14 gallons between my Race maxx and Savage last season with the Motorsaver. Both had Novarossi engines. I inspect my filters, carb and engines diligently for any debris/dirt that’s getting through. Nada/nilch/none that I could see. I do use an o-ring between the filter body and the clip for an extra tight seal/precaution which make it virtually impossible for any dirt to get through.

+1 with snook on this one. I have been running the motor saver filters since I started running nitro. I have had no issue's with them at all. The clearance on the older 2.5 revo motor saver was very tight and could eat into the spur easily but the 3.3 chassis has just about the right amount for good clearance. Also if your running A BB setup the HPI Savage filters are really great quality also and way more affordable off of ebay!

Wow that's a bold statement,if you're going to knock a great product on the internet at least take the time to check your spelling! Maybe you're inexperienced with the motorsaver, in 15+ years I have never had a problem with a motorsaver air filter, not once!...gimmicks dont last 20+ years in this hobby, as I type this I am looking at one of my motorsavers and ill be damned if I can't find an air gap anywhere so I'm lost as to what you have there

Got my seat and popcorn ready!! This is going to be good!

Myself have never ran motor saver filters on my rigs but have heard 100% great things about them so your negative 1 to posative 100 isnt going to alter me from buying one down the road..

I've never had an issue with dirt getting past my MS filters as is, not even with the first gen. filters, but I like that O ring idea. Wish I'd thought of it first.:hehe:

I run motorsaver on all my rigs and all the rigs I build for anyone , not once have I ever had any kind of problem and the trucks these things are used on cop some serious abuse.
even fine limestone dust does affect them where the trx would choke in about 10 minutes of run time

(BOLD STATEMENT, LOL sounds familiar!) Just kidding around hotrod!

The issue for the MS filters is one of risk minimization. As I previously stated, I had one of the MS filters for my Revo: The filter had high potential for air short circuiting in several locations. This fact was enough for me to discount this product.

I'm glad you guys have not had any issues... statistically, that does not preclude the fact that there are indeed high potential areas for air short circuiting (vs. other alternatives, such as the stock TRX filter). And yes, the stock filter does get clogged if not changed regularly/as needed - just need to change it, easy enough... Excellent example of form follows function.

And from a technical basis, I have seen no facts re MS filter that concludes these are indeed a benefit over the stock filter (especially considering the cost!). And I do not count the MS website propaganda as a technical comparision/basis - I chalk it up to marketing....

To each his own, if you want to run your mills on these filters - free choice. Just putting a factual data point out there to aid in decision making.

Cheers

Every great product will have at least one bad review. Not everyone has great experiences with name brand stuff and sometimes the best of products do fail.
