New iPod Touch 4G

Well today Steve Jobs did it again! They released the iPod Touch 4G!!!

Like the iPhone 4, it will have a front facing camera that you can use facetime with. It will also have a 5.0 MP camera , and HD video capture through the rear facing camera. As well as the retina display, and gyroscope feature. Looks like there trying to kill the iPhone 4...

I wouldn't say they're trying to kill the iPhone but they are trying to keep the Touch on a par with the iPhone. I just wish they had upgraded the storage on them.

That is true. But as for the storage, how much more than 64 gigs could you need? The more storage, the thicker the ipod is gonna have to be. And a whole lot of money for an iPod.

And now the poor suckers like me who have a 2G iPod touch that's been rendered mostly useless by the iOS 4.0 upgrade will have little choice but to buy a new one that actually works.

I don't understand why they need 2 products that do 97% of the same stuff. I guess there really are alot of people that want the media player but don't want AT&T. :shrug: I don't get it. I mean considering the amount of technology that we are packing into these devices why does anybody need to have a media player AND a cell phone as two separate things?

IN my situation AT&T coverage at my house is grim. I suffered through 6 months of missed and dropped calls at the end of my contract before I went to Verizon. Now it makes more sense for me to stay with Verizon because of the better coverage and the fact that the overwhelming majority of my friends and fam are on Verizon so I can call free.

So for those of us who would get no real satisfaction out of an iPhone, the iPod Touch is awesome. On the up side, rumor has it that Verizon may just have an iPhone in January.

Candyman! Long time no see! My "friend" at Verizon has been telling me that insiders are saying the iPhone will not drop until sometime next year. Verizon and Apple are working on a "5G" iPhone that will be 4G network capable. Since Verizon is hoping to have the 4G network in most major markets by June next year the thought is that they can steal a lot of AT&T's customers away since they will not have a 4G network for at least two years after Verizon. Take it for what it is worth..

Good rumblings RC... A lot of the consensus is that Verizon and Apple will unveil the iPhone at CES in January. Then there's no telling how long to hit the stores. My contract is up in January and I've been thinking Droid, but would much rather have an iPhone if I know it's coming. I can wait 6 months if I have to.
