well Hummer/GM went and made a more uglyer vehicle...Why not just stay with the H1 design well i they wont let my take pictures of it from their site so here is the url Hummer H3T

Heh the whole appeal of the original one was to have a no luxury,go anywhere, can get dirty, drive over the top of a dually dodge ram and smile type of rig.

They sold out, they are just a Pretty, shiny, big ass explorer or Tahoe these days IMVHO.

If I had my choice I would take a new 1st gen Military hummer over even the H2.

Don't get me wrog I wouldn't comlpain if any of thse 3 were parked I'm mydriveway :D

yea but i would not mind if i did not have to buy them the H1 are 100,000 and the H2 are lik 50,000 but the H2 and H3T are made off of Yukon chassis and suspension

I don't get the Hummer crowd. At least not the people I've seen. Let me see..I'm going to buy the slowest, most expensive SUV made. One with mad offroad capabilities. Tons of power, but no top end. Huge tires and a painfully stiff ride. I'm going to pay well over $50K for a pure bred offroad truck and drive it only on the highway.

Sorry guys. Hummer guys are morons...

Hmmm I think the original one would be fun as hell to have. Yeah it has no top end but dam I bet it has some mad torque. As for guys that get one to just to drive on the highway well I have pretty much done the same thing with my truck. I have a 4x4 and pretty much never use it except on the highway.

See the reason the H1 applys to me.. I'm an offroad guy. All of my camping spots have offroad trails. Heck some of my camping spots I have to go offroad to get too hehe.

I bought my 96' nissan brand new for the specific purposes of work, off road, and camping.

I can't belive the New hummers are made off the Yukon chassis...ick.. how can you call it a hummer?

GM tried to make the new Hummer's more appealing and eliminated some of the best features from the H1 to lower the price for the less wealthy. The H1 is the best, but double the price tag.

Ok looking at the hummer website to see why they had to make it more SUV friendly at least from an interior stand point I just don't get it. Look at this bad boy. Has all the interior features of my truck and more. I'd be all over it. I understand about the lower cost though.

Nevermind it was a bad link, just go to build a hummer and look for the interior tour of the H1

Like I said recently in a differnt thread. The Hummer H2 is a wanker mobile. I'd be embaressed to drive one or have it parked in my Driveway. The original H1 is bad ass and you'd hardly ever c them but they're expensive as sin and they've lost allot of their appeal now that General Hummer has sold out to GM (which they're making allot of money doing). THeir's a reason that the original Genreral Mil-spec hummers had beffy oversized diesel engines producing mad power and still getting good gas mileage. Have you every noticed how all the Hummer H2 guys are driving the speed limit or less (LOL)? It's cause they're probably getting 8mpg or less....lol. Now if the Hummer H2 had a Turbo Cummings Diesel engine it would be a different story. I can c the appeal of Hummer's to women and Ego maniacs who can't afford an exotic sportscar but give me a break.

I'm a hardcore offroad guy and I've driven in a Military-Spec H1 and the H2. The H2 does perfrom well offroad but I wouldn't piss on one if it was on fire.

Peace

Two TOTALLY different vehicles. The original H1 is for men. The H2 is a chick rig.
I knew a guy that had the H1, and as soon as the new H2 came out he traded in for the new one. Three days later he went back to the dealer and traded them back. It cost him a few bucks but he said he had to. He HATED the new one, and said it was gutless.

Fun Hummer Fact.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was the first Civilian to own a Hummer H1. He's got a huge collection of Hummers and spends over $40,000 a year having them detailed by some dude in Beverly Hills that uses brushes from Neiman Marcus...lol.
