It’s been a LONNNNG time since Amain carried Jammin’, and while Jay is out, HongNor didn’t stop, and their new X5B 1/8 buggy is one SERIOUSLY nice unit. Amain is now THE exclusive HongNor distro in the US, you heard it HERE FIRST, and Pre-order just started 10min ago, 😎

Some sick features on that one man. Looks awesome. I see that adjustable caster you were talking about. Why don't more RC's have that?

Either their engineer/drivers are lazy & dull, or they flat out wanna make more money by selling you multiple spindle carriers.. 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

This makes it tough AF for me to choose between Kyosho, or Hong Nor.. Really gonna likely boil down to wether or not Hong Nor brings a 1/8 truck as well. While I do lean toward Hong Nor, I KNOW Kyosho will, but Hong Nor may very well stick with Nitro, and an electric buggy. Truck is only popular outside of Europe/Asia unfortunately. 🙄☹️

I'm brain farting, the HongNor name sounds familiar, but can't remember why...
...and don't say Jammin cause that's not it. although i remember a Jammin 4x4 SCT that was supposedly a really good truck in it's day...

You did read my initial post, didn’t ya? It IS Jammin’. They made ALL Jammin’ products but the engines. Those were made by Picco. I’ve been messing with Hong Nor since 2004. They were also under the OG OFNA umbrella-along with Hobao. Still have several Hong Nor vehicles today, and a metric F-ton of their parts. But I won’t say it-because like you said “that’s not it.”… 🙄🤣🤷🏻‍♂️

I think I’ve got a solution….

Grab the Hong Nor X5B nitro buggy, and the Kyosho MP11-T when it’s released. Always preferred the truck from Kyosho, and the buggy from Jammin’/Hong Nor anyhow. 🤷🏻‍♂️😜

I WAS holding fast on the Kyosho buggy regardless-as it’s already been released, but I KNEW I was doomed when they release the truck. So if Hong Nor doesn’t feel a truggy is lucrative, or drags their feet another year-then it’s no big deal, and I’m still stoked either way with one of each, and in the platform I’d prefer. 😎

I feel like theres no reason to choose! 😎
1 car for each hand! 🤣

The HongNor would be buggy, and the Kyosho would be Truck. 😉 -but yes; one for each hand. Because I’m silly that way. 😂

Well, this puts a twist on my searching. That adjustable caster got my attention. I gotta say I'm very surprised to see that HongNor name stateside again.

Thanks for posting. Hope the electric version isn't too far behind.

Same here homeslice. I’ve been going back and forth with Hong Nor directly, as well as Chad Bradley (formerly of Jammin’) over at Amain about it. I’m very impressed with it, and super excited. The price isn’t outrageous either. Couple that with the precision engineering, molding, and machining this car exhibits; and it’s a win in my book. I’ve been trying to talk myself out of this one for months now since the spy photos were dropped. I’ve decided that it’s happnin’ now.

From what I understand; an ebuggy (or conversion) will follow. I do not have a timeline for it however-just so you’re aware.

I also look for T-Work’s, and VP-Pro to offer aftermarket support for it. Hong Nor has ALWAYS been on point with factory parts support too, of course (I’m still able to buy select CRT.5 parts 20yrs after its release)..

Yeah, I want one; in truggy form
It would be at LEAST a year.. They have had no plans of releasing one yet, but did say they would absolutely “evaluate the market demand for truggy”. Truck just isn’t popular anywhere in Europe, or Asia. I told them that outside of Europe & Asia, everywhere a 1/8 buggy is raced, the same drivers also race 1/8 truck. -and that is a huge requirement when someone looks at another manufacturer’s offerings; they don’t want to have to buy separate brands. They HAVE offered truck before with the X1, and X2 CRT’s, so they’re not blind to the notion. 😉

JUST spoke with Hong Nor again! Ebuggy will be next, THEN TRUGGY! 🤩🤩😜🤘🍻
Not that I'll be racing, but shoot dude, a buggy/truggy combo would make the switch to Hong Nor more appealing for sure. I just need/want one more eBuggy platform to fill a void. During the past month or so of looking for an EB48 2.x dealbreaker, I'm already twitchin' with the thought of going outside the Tekno eBuggy "safety net".

I just wonder if it was Hong Nor or Amain doing the reaching out for the distribution deal. Either way, somebody has the balls that the X5B is a contender.

No reason to choose at all! ❤️

These damned companies keep building more cars than I have money to spend on them. Is there someone I can call? 🤔🤣
