RC Driving Style
Hi I am new here and am completely new here and new to nitro cars.

I am looking to buy a nitro buggy for the park i live near (its not a flat park its almost like a forest) so i need something with plenty of good suspension and can take a good knocking. I also want something real fast to get some real cool jumps in the ramps.

Although I am new to nitro cars i am no stranger to RC cars, so i don't want the "noob" version of anything, i want something good regardless of level.

Also maybe something i can upgrade as time goes on.

I really would appreciate any help and guidance that you can give me. thanks :)

It sounds like a Monster Truck would suit your needs. Look into a Traxxas TMaxx or an HPI Savage. The Savage is the toughest one out there, but both have LOTS of after market support and upgrades available.

nah its not that bad, its more like a dirt bike track. I have seen a few vids on youtube of people driving buggies in far worse conditions that i would, i think "forest" is a bit of an overstatement haha more like a hilly grass-less park. kinda like a dirt track with trees. :)

also monster trucks are really not my thing.

nah see even that doesn't do it for me, i really like the buggies.

Welcome to the site, if your looking for a buggy, what's your price range?

well I'm thinking is there a model that i can buy fairly cheap in the 250-300 dollar region and upgrade to the point as its as good as a pro buggy?

i don't have much money so the idea of upgrading as time goes on as vary appealing.

I would go withthe Ofna...can't beat the Picco engine and the upgrade possibilities are almost endless. I recently aquired a Jammin and I love it. For the price its well worth a look.

okay well if money wasn't an object what would you suggest?

is it fast?

Well if money wasn't an option there are a couple more options,

That's a team Losi 8ight-b, it comes rtr with a .21 motor and a Spektrum DX3S radio, Losi has always had a good name in nitro r/c and if i was going to get into buggy racing that is what i would choose,

That's just my opinion though, heres a couple more good names that i have heard around.

Team Associated RC8b, team associated also has a good name for durability in this hobby,

Also, the Jammin x2 pro, in buggy racing you will see lots of Jammin buggies on the track,

Just depends on how fast you want. I have the Jammin truggie and she screams. But for me I plan to do more racing then bashing and you can only go so fast around a track. if you looking for more of a basher I would check out the Ofna line. Very fast durable and not that much of a cost of upkeep upgrading and parts are pretty much anywhere if you happen to break something. Some ofthe RTR kits that Sev was talking about are extremely nice if you have the money. Me I would totally take the Losi in a heart beat but with me I tend to steer to something thats not going to kill me at the start. Losi, Assosiated,Ofna,Kyosho pretty much all make good products but its all in how much you want to spend along with avalability of parts. If your Local hobby shop steers toward a certain brand. Do a lil research to see if it fits you.

i am seriously liking the OFNA Jammin X2.

any idea on the speed of these things?

If your looking at the buggie it will do about 45 maybe 50 depending on the gearing but as I said earlier depending on where your driving speed can easily be stopped but obsticles. I have no doubt you will enjoy it. And the durability can't be beat. I have heard stories about ppl hitting walls curbs ect. will minimal to no damage. But as I said do your research make sure it fits you and either way or one you choose you will enjoy. That I can garentee.

yeah thanks for the help. of course, i am going to a few hours of research on weather i am better off getting a X1 and slowly upgrading or getting the X2 pro and not. I do, however have the problem of living in the uk and can't seem to find either on a uk website.

Tower hobbies ships to the UK, I think(correct me if i'm wrong), You could always get the jammin x1 used, and then upgrade to the x2, i'm pretty sure that they have a kit for the upgrade.

Sorry I can't be of much help there as I live i nthe US. A little research may prove to be best on your end. As I said I have the X1 truggy and I'm waiting either for them to make an upgrade kit or a place to find the different parts to upgrade it my self piece by piece. With the buggy if you have the X1 you can get the upgrade kit and so on.But if you can grab the X2 from the start you will save some for if you do happen to break something or for upgrades.
Heres the website to the Jammin products. You may be able to find something there hope this helps.

can't seem to even find a place that sells the Ofna jammin x1 with everything included. Not even in america let alone the uk. HEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP hahahaha

YO uwill find one on Ebay BUT...Since the X2s are out you wont find one retail. You may if your lucky.
