New Electric Rustler

I picked up one of the new rustlers last night, and have so far enjoyed it. http://www.traxxas.com/products/electric/rustler2006/trx_rustler.htm I have to be honest and say I know nothing about electric besides charging the battery! It's just not fast enough for me, what can I do to make it faster, and what is the benifits of brushless motors?

I recently read an article about the revamped Rustler and Stampede. I assumed the 12 turn motor would scoot those things pretty well. I'm not sure what type of battery they give you with the RTR but I bet you would see a world of difference if you simply upgraded to an IB or GP pack. That's probably your simplest and cheapest upgrade that's gonna make the biggest difference.

Run 7 cells and change the pinion to th 28T.

what is the benifits of brushless motors?

I like Novaks sensored systems, silky smooth at any speed, longer run times, and fast as hell. Look into the Novak 4.5 and some good 7 cell packs. That set up will beat most stock nitro trucks.

Thanks for the quick replies! Gonna try changing the pinion tonight and tomorrow I'll get a 7 cell pack. Definitly going to look into that brushless setup, funny thing is it costs more than the truck!
