What servo is it?

I got bored, wired it up without the dig..... IT LIVES!!!!! I need to work out a couple things here and there, like my links up front. I took it outside and ran it for a few minutes. Did decent, set a cynder block down (holes up) and crawled over it first try, second try one of the front links broke, was the messed up links I got from a guy on ebay. He shortened the kamikazi links and didnt thread them? anyway glad I put it together and did a little test run before I order the rest of the stuff, Ill need to add links to the list. Anybody got some high clearance 4.5 inch eye to eye links they want to part with in a couple weeks? lol

I'm thinking about buying some 1/4" delrin rod and the jig for drilling it and making my own, go ahead and replace all my links with delrin (my uppers are random steel turnbuckles now)

If you are gonna go delrin you will want to use a minimum of 5/16" or 3/8" delrin rod, 1/4" for links specially lower links bends like a wet noodle, 5/16" will start to warp a little over time unless you drill it all the way through and for best results use 8/32" rod with Revo rod ends or the 3/8" with Revo rod ends.

I priced the 3/8 from McMaster Carr, it would be right around $10 shipped for a 5' stick. I might order 2 of them to make the shipping a little more worth it..lol How do you guys that make your own drill the ends out and keep it centered? I found a jig on rccrawler that seems like it would work well.

I use the jig that jeepndoug sales on rcc, it works great. Get the drill bit for a 3MM tap to use as a starter hole with the jig. Then just pick up a 8/32" tap and drill bit to go with it and some 8/32" studs to connect the rod ends and links together.

SOOOOOOOOO........... I ordered most all the parts needed to properly finish this thing. Just got to hit the LHS for some rod ends and misc little stuff!!! By the end of the week I should be pretty much done with the build and ready for tuning. 2 freaking years in the making and its going to be worth every bit....lol It wont be any comp beast (yet) but it will be fun for me. On a side note, does anyone make a battery pack for radios? would be nice to just slap in a pack and not deal with 10000000000 aa batteries.

What radio are you running, I picked a 11.1v lipo from hobbyking.com for like $8.00 it replaces 8AA batteries and lasts much longer.

They have this one for radios that use 4AA batteries

As well as some other options to chose from.

just the standard 3 channel traxxas modded for dig

Then with the addition of a Rx type plug added to your Tx the pack in the first link will work, you just need to remember to unplug it when you are done for the day, and not over discharge it since your Tx has no way of telling you what the voltage is in the battery. You may want to invest in a Lipo battery monitor like this http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6589 it will tell you your total and cell voltage for the pack. you could get a charger like this http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6507 to charge it, but I would recommend getting a A/C power supply for it. Venom makes this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPZT6&P=7 that comes with a A/C power supply.

By chance did you buy that from me? Man, that was a long time ago :hehe:

It was a long time ago and I did buy it from you, and you packaged it with the losi tires lol.

I ordered the venom pro charger

Got my bug body and the dig in today, you would think after 2 years i would have an idea how I want to paint it.... nope..... general vague thoughts, but no plan....hmmmmmm Should have the charger and some boss claws Wednesday.

so the overall crawler is DONE other than body work. Bad news is apparently at some point my batteries decided to both drop a cell? SOOO.... I need a couple batteries. Suggestions? Wouldnt mind a small "comp" battery and a bigger "bash" battery, or a couple in between size.
