It looks like its going to be alot of fun stuffing all the electronics in this thing. The chassis is REALLY narrow with the kamikaze skid. The traxxas rcvr just barely fits in it. so I believe most if not all my electronics will be axle mounted.

yeah but that gonna be ok imo, did you get the tray from kk for the rear axle?

No, what I got from ebay didn't have the rear tray.

walmart has an aluminum straight edge yardstick, I believe I will be cutting one up and making a tray out of it.

I'm going to try on my break at work tomorrow to hack out a couple trays. Might need some fine tuning afterwards but it will be a start, i'll post some pics even if they turn out to be a waste of a yardstick....lol So far though they look good in theory, I have them cut to length and a template cut and taped over them, so all I have to do is drill 6 holes and put it to the band saw, little grinder action, should be good..... maybe

i wanna see what you come up with!

here it is, not mounted yet, need to "fine tune" it

it will mount using the holes that the factory "lockouts" mount in. I believe I will try to make a bracket that bolts on to add the steering servo to the plate as well, so as not to have the strap around the axle to get hung up. I know its not alot but its below the axle and so are the rocks.

use something like these to mount the servo to the plate.

what is it? a metal yardstick?

basically, its 1\16th x 1 1/8th inch aluminum

oh ok, looks good man, should serve its purpose well!

Here is the plate mounted, and a visual for how i want to do my steering setup. I wont be using this servo, just set it there for a reference. What do you guys think of this so far? keep going with it? or rethink it? I'll be trimming the plate after everything is mounted so there isn't any extra to get in the way of anything. Later on I want to get the high steer knuckles for it.

I like the idea of mounting the servo "facing" backwards, keeping the arm away from the rocks. I think the next big thing I buy will be a servo and aluminum arm.

plate looks good eddie!

what are you gonna get?

what do the rest of you guys think about how I want to do the steering?
