New and need suggestions.

Hi, i have recently purchased a Traxxas Slayer. Love the thing very much, but the radio is to be desired. There is a possibility i may race it in the near future. Only thing i know about remotes is that i dont like the glitchy signal of AM. And don't want something that is over complicated.

I am on a tight budget and cannot really afford to lay down $200 right now for a set up. Perhaps i will just have to wait until i can afford such a purchase or would one the less expensive FM radios suffice?

After doing some looking around would Futaba 3PM 3-Channel FM/2 S3003 Servos A4 be ok? Or am i not advancing much ?

I beleive that there is a member on here that has a Futaba 3PK for sale. If I'm not mistaken its Frickinjoey. Look in the "for sale" forum. I think its set up for 2.4.

I found someone selling a Futaba 3PM-FS Pro for $80 with receiver. Or perhaps i should stay away because the receivers are harder to obtain?

How big a difference is it to go 2.4Mhz vs 75Mhz?
