It’s a GROM, so you’d could definitely bash it.Okay. So, I'm not a NASCAR fan. I couldn't even name two dudes who drive these cars. I used to watch racing when I was a youngster... we only got three TV stations back in the day with antenna. Nowadays, I'll watch the last half of a night race if the moment sparks something for some reason. I'm looking for a smaller scale multi tasking RC to run in the driveway. 1/8 scale Vendetta gets little use these days. A 1/12 scale platform might just be the ticket. If this is the paint scheme to be released by Losi, I'll give the platform a second look...

Off I go to research this 1/12 ride.
Slap on some hard tires... a possibility of drifting this thing?
That's what I came up as well. I'm just trying to find an excuse to buy a 1/12 scale on-road RCThis is the dimensions of the stock 1400 pack:
Product Height 0.84" (21 mm)
Product Length 3.96" (101 mm)
Product Weight 85g
Product Width 1.24" (31 mm)
Now looking at the chassis with all that room on the side, I mean it might be doable to fit it. Could just take out the battery strap/tray and just Velcro the battery right to the chassis. That's what I do with my reflex 14t battery.

I'm not sure what 2s stick your referencing. The only 2s that I have is the Zeee pictured next to the CNHL 3s and the factory 2s. The 3s pictured is the biggest pack I've found that fits without mods.Battery
I'm off to go look, but maybe someone can answer: Will the chassis accept a 2S full size stick pack?
So how is it on 3s???I'm not sure what 2s stick your referencing. The only 2s that I have is the Zeee pictured next to the CNHL 3s and the factory 2s. The 3s pictured is the biggest pack I've found that fits without mods.
It looks like you could trim out some of the chassis bracing and fit a larger battery but I'd wonder about weight balance.

So how is it on 3s???![]()
With the 1400's, everyone is still getting good speed, power and long enough run time?
My Granite is also very fast on 3s. Prob a good mix of low end power and top end speed with factory gears. Never tried to clock it tho.The mojave is nearly uncontrollable on 3s unless you utilize punch control settings in the esc. I haven't ran the nascar grom on 3s yet, just the factory battery. But even on the 1400 2s it rips. Run time stinks, 20 min at best. The 3s gets it up to 30-45min and I'm pretty throttle heavy.
As far as speed, I could only get the mojave up to 50-52 on 3s before it experienced lift. I'm sure the nascar would do better in that respect.
I'll be happy if I ever get just my 1 Optima Mid project to the track to run!A friend has a box stock car that he runs at the local track. I'll ask him. I only ran mine factory a couple of times before throwing all the shiny red stuff at it. I treat the nascar as a drift car, mainly run it in my garage around some scale cones.
I'm tempted to get another to give organized racing a shot. Seems to be a popular class.
The hard plastic adds another layer of protection to the cells in case the car wrecks bad and the lipo comes flying out. It’s a pretty universal rule at all of the tracks I’ve ever been to, even parking lot races. Trust me, you don’t want to be the guy who starts a lipo fire at the track. Ask me how I know.I still don't understand the hard pack rule.![]()
These are definitely perfect gateway drugs back into racing. My trigger finger is still itching to get one. My kids sports have taken over weekends, so it’s just crawlers for me at the moment but I can’t wait to get back to racing one day.I'm thinking maybe ppl are looking for a fun race experience without dumping a ton of money and time into the cars.
Seems like a great way to break into the hobby.![]()
I understand what hard packs are supposed to do. I don't understand why they are necessary though. I watch trucks ( including my own) take a fairly good hammering, all soft pack. Ask me how I know.![]()
It FEELS like they are required, linked somehow to suppliers etc. Like its about sales. That feels dirty to me.
They are constantly coming up with rules that I don't understand.
I have also heard a story about a lipo fire that resulted in home loss. Terrifying to think about certainly! I do understand your want for care and caution.I’m pickin up what you’re putting down. Personally, I’ve caught a workstation on fire in a pit once and have a friend who lost his entire home to a lipo charging incident, so even if it’s an illusion of added safety, I subscribe. That might be the dumbest thing I’ve admitted to in a while, I just fear the lipo lol.
As far as corporate tie in to the rule book…you’re 100% on track there. Tracks with shops often use the rule book to force sales which I do NOT subscribe to. I will gladly stand at the parts counter and submit an Amazon order for a new doo-hickey because my doo-hackey is no longer “legal” by a BS standard.
Fitment of a run of the mill/typical 139x47x25mm 2S LiPo stick pack...I'm not sure what 2s stick your referencing. The only 2s that I have is the Zeee pictured next to the CNHL 3s and the factory 2s. The 3s pictured is the biggest pack I've found that fits without mods.

I asked my buddy but he wasn't sure either so we did a speed test. 23mph was the best we got box stock.I'm curious, just to know, how one of these stock cars would do in a speed test.
