I have some rattle cans ,and am not ready to spend the money on an air brush yet. What tips can anyone give me to get some good effects with the spray cans (still dont have any ideas on the design either.

can't you get a cheap airbrush for like $20 these days? Personally, I hate (I mean hate with a serious passion) rattle cans. But I understand your not wanting to spend a lot of money. Rattle cans put out a lot of paint very quickly over a broad area and don't allow for any fine details... actually any "airbrush style" details will be difficult. Honestly, I can't imagine trying to paint a body with a rattle can but then again I've never tried. I havn't painted a body in about 3 years but Ihad a brush then too. I would suggest trying to find a very entry level brush for a modest price. if you're new to painting in general it will help you get aquainted with an airbrush anyways, then in the future when you feel more comforetable and willing to push your abilities go ahead and spend good money on a dual action or something... hey, maybe somebody in the forum has an old brush they don't use anymore they wouldn't mind parting with... :2cents:

yeah,If I get a airbrush I would want to spend the money on a good setup not a throwaway. thats the delima.I just dont have the cash to spend on one right now. the only way i would go for a cheap one would be if it is free. things are a little tight money wise right now for me. (other priorities).

glad to see you have your priorities in order.. can be easy to forget in this hobby I'm finding out hehe. well, as far as tips on using a rattle can... you're probably not gonna be able to do any fading very well but that's really the only limitation. As far as designs are concerned you can just tape stuff off in the normal fashon. make sure you move fairly quickly... you don't want your coats to be too heavy or they'll run when you untape early or you won't be able to untape cleanly later. I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice on body painting due to my lack of experience but I'm just spittin out what comes to mind.
