I am still have a problem with my monster gt it is still slipping or what ever it is doing the same thing tires are not getting the power to them. I am think about putting new gears in it but don't know what ones i should replace. I know that i am going to replace the pinion in the front end cause i know it has some wear on it I can tell, The case is full of metal shavings. I was wonder what I should start with? :\

You have to replace both the ring and pinion gears at the same time. A used gear will wear out a new one in no time. Metal shavings are usually a good indication of what the problem is too...;)

Ok thanks I will do that the rest of them look fine i am going replace the shim and see if that will fix the rest of the issues i have been having.

If I were you, I'd just buck-up and get both ring and pinions and be done with it. How many times have you had this truck apart for the same problem now?:\ I don't like telling people where to spend their money, but you need to do something. Taking it apart and putting it back together isn't going to fix anything. A shim won't fix a ring and pinion. If the gears were ran too loose and finally quit working, it's too late for a shim. Shimming is preventative maintenance. Not something you do to fix bad gears. If there were metal shavings in either of the diffs, it's shot and needs to be replaced.

Just thinking maybe i should just stop screwing around about it and replace both diff's and call it done. :D

I was wondering dose anyone know if sportwerks will work in a associated monster. They look like the same part to me.

If that is indeed your problem, then yes do that. You may end up with a spare for sometime when you're in a pinch, but at least you will know they're new.

At least you'll have one possibility eliminated. Read up and watch videos on how to shim them correctly. Then you'll know your diffs are good to go.

Well went to a new HS yesterday and the people that run it are great they told me what was up with the monster and are ordering the parts to fix it. They should have them in on thursday :D :D :D

Its was both the front and read pinion and ring gears. I was looking at them separate not as a pair and if you put them together you can see how bad they are. :O So i should have it put back together by the end of the week and should run awsome i hope. Now i just need to think of an ideal for some paint for the new body!!!!!!!!!!!

Back your slipper off a little. That will take some of the shock out of the diffs. You want it to slip for 1-2 feet when you hammer it off the line. Just don't let it slip too much while your adjusting it, or you can ruin it.

OK I will do that the guy i got the truck from told me the other day he had it as tight as he could get it. Did not want it to slip at all.
