I just formatted my PC and it's back up and running great but before I could Dl my Firewall again I got some some spyware from my cable connection.I ran my addware program and got rid of all of it but 1 item. When I go to my Add or remove programs thier is a program installed called "Web Saving from Ebates".I searched for it using the search feature and deleted everything I found from the program only it's still in my Add/remove programs. When I try to uninstall it it says "Error: Could not execute MAin:The system could not find the file specified".
When I restart the pc it gives me the same error message.I tried starting in safe mode and removing it but it still give the same message. Can someone please help me get rid of this. It's not hurting anything and I'm not getting any adds but the Error message is annoying everytime I restart.

What version of windows are you running? I'll elp you get rid of them when you gt back to us.

Oh Sorry I'm XP home edition.I got the error message to stop coming on startup but it's still in the add/remove programs.

wow... this confuses me. it confuses me because, spy ware is normally pretty hard to get(the kind that actually hamrs your computer.) how did you get spyware off a reformated computer? I'm assuming it had to be user fault and you either went to some bad website or d/l'd smothing.

whats the name of the spyware? nm dint read D:

The problem is, it allows you to use the add/remove to remove it.

You deleted the files before you unsintsalled it. This means you also deleted the uninstall file.

The uninstaller uses one of those files to find the location of the rest of the program and remove it. Without those files, windows add/remove programs won;t be able to remove it.

In short, you deleted the files it needed to remove it. Although it is gone from your computer, you wont be able to remove it from your program list without 3 party software.

I got it from Kazaa.I couldn't find the no spyware version and installed the normal version then ran my spy checker. When I deleted the adware Kazaa would no longer function so I uninstalled the program and searched for the no adware version which I found and installed.I removed all the adware I could find but that one is still on the add/remove list. What If I reinstall the addware version of Kazaa? It will installe all the adware and then I could just uninstall the Ebates program normally and then scan the rest to get it all out?

If you re installed it , then most likely yes. It would remove normally. I don;t see a need unless it just bugs you to see it there.

I would recomend a prog calles Spybot Search&Destroy,it kicks some good ass. far as removing the files ,can you use DOS?
Sometimes it works better than windows due to its lower level operation.
Holler if I can help anymore. Steven

I'm using Adware 6.0 Pro for my spy checker.I guess i'll just leave it go since it's not doing anything but annoying me.Thanks for the helps guys.
