xtm is coming out w/ a center diff option I believe...

But, the 2-speed is what gives it its 0-30 in under 1 seccond time... W/ the center diff, you'd prolly want a more powerful engine...and one w/ higher rpm... cause you won't be able to hit that 49.7 mph top speed anymore...

I don't know if you're B3 would be fine as a replacement tho (I mean, I have no idea, not, I'm saying i don't think it will)

Alright, I have pretty much decided on the LS, but what are the diffs between the pro and the RR? Is the pro worth the extra money?

I was looking at them today, and from what I saw, the pro has al. arms, more al. parts, and I think a little bit different suspension, but I wasn't looking too closely.

Yea thats about all I know.

vbgagnon, you have the pro right? Do you know all the diffs between that and the RR? Is it worth the money for the pro? Its really not that much more but I want to hear what you have to say. Thanks.

VB, you out there? Anyone?

Hey, AC, I think you might want to try atruggy now since you have had a couple of buggies. It is nice to have the extra ground clearance and the near same handling. I would skip a center diff on a truggy as supposedly it will hinder your cornering. The theory I have heard is that the higher CG trucks will falter and possibly roll more in corners if there is a center diff.

You're gonna love the Hot Bodies Truggy!

I have the RR. In my opinion, get the RR.

Major differences;

Aluminum front A-arms on the pro...do ya really want aluminum A-arms?

Dual disc brakes on the pro...great for the racer...but if your bashing...does brake fade really hurt anything?

Mr T

center diff hinder cornering??....no way....w/ a tranny you get the ass pushed around easier cause they spin at the same speed (front / rear)....w/ a diff you can let the rear give a lighter push around turns....beside the LSP sits real low......

Hey Plaid, just the other day someone at the track (MT track) was arguing that people that convert their own buggies to truggies and leave the center diff in it hurt their handling. Since I have a Revo, and of course it does not have a center diff, I could not really relate to what he was saying, but, and a big but, I have upped my diff oil to be stiffer up front for more forward traction and set my shift point to come on earlier. This guy said I should have upped my rear diff only since I do not have a center diff, and for the reasons I gave to you above. (eliminates some bad handling) Right now, I am really happy with how my Revo handles, so I am thinking this guy was just the local know-it-all BS'r. Wouldn't the same principle work on a truggy that had a 2 speed and no center diff?

Yea, I am under the impression that a center diff will give you better handling and a transmission will give you an edge in full out acceleration becuase it will force the rear to spin just as fast?

Thanks Mr. T, I was hoping someone would say that so I have less reason to justify spending more money lol. The aluminum A-Arms look cool, but I doubt they are really needed. I was more thinking about other stuff like the brakes that would make it worth the extra $. I thought the shocks were different? Is the pro more braced? idk, things like that might make me want the pro.

Well I was looking around and I can get the RR for 449 on tower and the Pro for 489. According to tower the pro has full CVA joints, 3 brake discs, al arms, hardend diff gears, and beefier shocks over the RR. Doesn't sound that bad for only $40 more, although it is out of stock...:(

No, a center diff wont hinder cornering.I like the fact I can change diff weights and I am not just stuck with a center spool like what is on the Mammoth ST. Its all about tuneability.

Hmmm...may have to go for the Pro, just waiting for vb to chime in lol. Good to know psunitro.

For the extra the pro isn't bad to have. I would ditch the arms! But you basically get the same truck with 3.5 mm shocks, 3 shoe clutch, arms and so on. I have the RR and don't have a problem with it. I would buy another one right now if I could.

The thing about the pro is that nobody has them in stock. If your looking to get one soon you'll have to go with the RR or pony up an extra 100 - 200 clams. Your decision, if it were me, I'd just go with the RR

Well, I don't need the arms, I have only broken one suspension arm sice I started R/C like 2 years ago, I already have a Mugen 3-Shoe clutch ready to go, really the only thing is the 3.5mm shocks which isn't worth the wait, plus the only shocks I have ever bent were on a Savage. I think I will go with a RR.

vb, where did you get yours? I can get one on tower for $449.99 with the cupon, is that a good deal?

the CVAs make it worth the wait....the extra braking....you can sell the aluminum arms and buy a set of the plastic ones for less than half what you'd get....also the beefy-er shocks are nice

I've seen plenty of pro's on ebay over the last few weeks, usually right around 500 shipped.

If you can find one for $500 I would get it, I saw one earlier but someone bought it, I can't spend that much right now.
