Ok, I am thinking of dying some touring car wheels b/c I can't find any the color I want. I was looking for bright flourescent color rims (like on a buggy) but can't find any. So my alternative is to dye some. But before I actually waste a new set of wheels w/ dye, I wanted to see some pics of others dyed projects to give me an idea of what the results will look like.

So if you have any pics of dyed rims, please post them on here so I can brainstorm on my own color ideas. Thanks.

Here are a couple I found on RPM's webpage. Dying the white wheels don't seem to make the colors pop. However, dying the chrome wheels do seem to take it to the next level.

just make sure you dye the tires before you glue them becuase the glue doesn't die I've got a pic of my dads wheels (AE wheels died urple ill get them up here in a little bit leme go find the camera)

Would you use the same process(the stove top process in the how section of link above )to dye rc wheels?

Can you die plastic wheels or do they have to de aluminum? sorry if thats a stupid question? If you can do plastic wheels then would they melt in the hot water? How would you do it?

I used a string because the steam can get hot so a decent length shoe string will keep the heat away, Either way will work.

That was just what i needed. Thanks mayhem. Now just to get a set of i-mexx wheels and dye them black.
