hi, just began running my 4 tec. but as soon as i was getting the hang of drifting, it was time to change my 1500 battery pack. I swap it for a 3000 battery pack. i could just keep swapping packs, but i was wondering if there was any mod so i can get more runtime. i am using the stinger 20t stock motor..... any suggestions?

Use a stock motor (27 turn). You dont need a low number turned motor for drifting, you need torque. I think you will find drifting to be more fun with a stock motor too. I have heard of guys with stock motors and 2400 batteries drifting for close to 20 minutes with a controlled throttle finger. I have a Trinity P2K2 with the leads, minimal use, can ship it for $15 if you are interested.

I would have to check on shipping fees, I was looking to get like $12 for the motor. If you dont mind paying 12+ shipping I can do that. If you are further interested email me at [email protected] - much easier to get ahold of me that way.

you need to look into matched cells check out this links

look into getting 1.170 matched packs or higher

Yup, 710baby is dead on. Get matched cells if you want the most in runtime. If you have a less than perfect cell in those packs, it will drag down the others. Not only in runtime, but in the charging cycle as well.

Not sure if you are still keeping up with this thread but anyway. You may need to change your gear ratio. Low gearing for top speed is great for on road but for off road it puts lots of stress on your motor and ESC and will eat the batteries up quick. If you are running off road, use a higher gear ratio and you will see an improvment in proformance and battery life. Also Make sure your gears aren't meshed too tightly. You should have a little back lash between the gears. Try putting a strip of paper between the gears when you tighten the motor. Too much pressure will also stress the motor and eat batteries.
