I'm considering selling my TRX-4M, but I don't quite know what the price should be.
I bought it around a year-and-a-half ago, and in the last year have put these upgrades on it:
-Traxxas heat sync (blue)
-Traxxas metal axle gears
-Traxxas metal pivot balls
-Winter Evening sealed ball bearing kit
-2x spare tires
-Extra (Traxxas) battery
What would you sell it at? I was thinking around $170.

If you're selling it to me, the price is WAY too high! 🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Ask for a bit more than you really want. Maybe you get lucky on price, maybe the buyer 'grinds' you down to your actual asking price and you're happy either way! 😎

Well It always sucks to feel like you left money on the table also. Like I have listed things for sale at $100 and it sold in 15 minute I should have asked for more.
I've caught a couple screaming deals like this. I try to find more from the same seller to see if everything is a super deal too...
If not, find another item and ask for a ggood package price! 🤣
Sometimes ppl sold too cheap. They might have regrets. Sometimes ppl just got a job transfer to Zimbabwe and 'Its ALL gotta go!!!" 🤣😎

I'm the opposite, just give me a price, if I think it's too high I will skip it. Pretty much any RC drops in value by about 50-75 percent. It doesn't matter how many upgrades you put on it you will never recover that money. Just my view on things. I don't buy things for resale value, I buy them to enjoy. if you enjoyed it, it was worth what you paid, but you shouldn't expect to recover that cost.

I was watching a Hot Trick Chassis on thebay and saw 1 guy had 11 of them but for big bucks... I was watching. Having waited 30 years, a few more months isn't a biggie. 🤣
I was about to order another, more rare Trinity chassis and my Hot Trick came up on sale!
The option was there to make an offer or buy now. I thought it was worth a try and made a fair offer. (I got shipping price off also!) I bought it SUPER cheap compared to asking. 👍
If this was an item that was super common, yes, I would be unlikely to view something that I thought was too expensive. 😎

In your scenario it makes sense. My problem is there is too much cool new stuff I like for me to spend a lot on hard to get stuff. I don't have the nostalgia connection to a lot of stuff because I am relatively new in the hobby.

it also depends on what platform you are selling it on. On craigslist, you can sell it for less than selling it and having to ship it. PayPal wants their cut, shipping needs their cut, then packaging gets a cut. Ebay will take taxes out of it.
Yeah. I'm just doing Marketplace.
