Yes a 2.5 or a 3.3 will fit in the same location.

I’m a firm believer in larger displacement but, in this instance with a 4Tec less is more.
It not being a top of the line on road, the 3.3 power is wasted with it. I actually get better lap and run times with the 2.5/R than with the 3.3 in the 4Tec.

Granted it is not as fast top end speed but I agree that it has a ton of wasted power.

that is good to know about the 4tec!!! I am glad I stuck with the old rs4.. she's been good to me.. I almost got the 4tec instead but something told me not to!!!!!

i wouldnt mind having a 3.3 again but i have had nothing but problems with it and i dont reelly need the rc going 70 mph lol be sides i will never get the room to gallop that fast lol engine gave out finally after 2 years so I'm glad that it lasted that long .....

i love the 3.3 but the tires dont hold down when I'm doin high speed passes ...and wierdest thing too the original tire it came with threaded slid every where in street fresh ashpalt nothing but spin out or wobble .....when to hobby shop and i got some hpi rims and super slicks and wow a diffrence was better i can take turns like a tank ...and rain wow lol they became drift tires.....lol very fun...2 in 1 ...cool thing that hpi rims came out to a buc and tires 6 bux a pair....best 15 bux ever spent

so the 4 tec ... 2.5r engine wont be a problem i just dont want to be changing gears...
