I just bought a traxxas rustler and i followed the proper break in steps but after reading more about it i was suppose to get the engine to 200 d for the piston and sleeve. It wAs cold when i did it and my temp only got up to 140.i didnt read about the temp which is my falt. I'm on my 8 tank of fuel including break in tanks should i just keep going are do the break in steps again at 200 d .......... Thanks

i would give it at least 1 tank or 2 doing the heat cycle method ...just to be sure .....make sure the temps go up to where they should ..

i had my first 3.3 that i broke in last winter ( traxxas method) ...( ya i was new as well) ...but i did make sure to reach good temps when i did it .....that said , after a few months , that engine lost most of its pinch and compression ...wouldnt work good in warm weather ...

that engine was apart until about a month ago , i decided to give it a go again ...burnt a thank doing the heat cycle ....and it seems to work good again...even gained a bit more compression ( i use it just during the cold months)

my second 3.3 i broke in the heat cycle way ...and i saw a diff in performance ...that engine still has great pinch and compression even after a couple gallons of hard bashing ;)

i would asume that your motot is broke in by now so just keep going

Incorrect information.

Your engine is NOT broken in. So far all you've done is put a strain on it. Breaking it in is ALL about the heat cycling. If you don't run it at the proper temps, you're not doing it any good.

Ok thanks for the information so still getting it up to 200d would be recomended?

The engine is not properly broke in its in your best intrest to wait for warmer weather than trying to kill it. Does'nt the hobby shop get enough of our money.(STUPIDITY IS FREE)
