ok i bought a new piston and sleeve for my 15fe and i can't get the dam con rod on the crank. i never rebuilt a nitro engine what else should i know ? i wanna get it running before it gets to late. Thanks

another question it says i need a gasket set is it just the backplate gasket ? and head shims my mill never had a head gasket or shims on it did hpi forget something ?

u have to dig 4 the shim but it is there but leave it alone if ur not putting a new 1 in and if the gasket is in ok con then leave it

Unless HPI changed the design there is a head shim. There is one on my .15FE. It is very thin. Odds are it is stuck to the bottom of the head. IIRC the color of the shim on my .15FE is a copper color.

It is ideal to replace the gasket on the backplate when you tear it down. I didn't do it the first time and I ended up tearing it apart again and installing one.

ok ya i can't get my head shim out its stuck should i heat up the oven ?

Also the hpi part #1663 come with a new head shim and backplate gasket. There is more gap now between the block and the head will i need a differnt size shim ? so ill buy this and replace both b/c i need new head bolts what size head bolts should i need ?
