Hi. i have just brought 2 cars from a local guy. i have no idea about rc cars.

They both fire up ok but for some reason when you go into high revs they just cut out.

No idea on the makes altho one is "novarossi" heres some pics if that helps.

The cars may have been standing for a while we added fresh fuel.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? also any info on the cars would be great

The cutting out might be due to a too rich HSN setting. Chech out the beginners guide posted as a sticky at the top of the Nitro Talk forum to get started then post your additional questions as needed. Welcome to the addiction!

Is your stadium truck really old??? If i'm not mistaken the brake is not disc but band and wheel!! It also looks like your front tires are bigger than your back tires!!

Hard to say for sure, but the first one might be an early Mugen.

Second one is a Traxxas Nitro Sport/Nitro Hawk (can't remember exactly). I've worked on one before, and recognize that 'backwards' clutch any day. That truck is a bit of an antique. It has an MIP Stinger on it.

Thanks for the replies. yes the off roader is an old boy, nitro halk is correct.

I took them to a model shop today. I was told the other one, is "serpent" and is worth a fair few pennys apparently. its all race done up and modified etc. way too much for what i want so he advised me to put it on ebay or on a forum like this for sale or swap for a more practicle one

Sorry you are right it IS a mugen! 2 model shops told me it was a serpent but it turns out its not, its very close to one looks wise but its actualy a mugen avance or something
