Hey guys I need help !!!LOL

I have about 7-8 cars or so running here at my track , and it has got to the point that someone always have to sit out because of operating on the same freq.....It is sorta aggervating ,ok maybe not sorta IT IS A PAIN !!!!

So I guess I am going to put a order in for a new radio system . As much as I would like to go Spektrum....But there is no way I could swing the price of one right now , I know it would pay for itself in the long run ...but I am strapped for cash right now .....

So here is my choices :

Airtronics MX-3 3-Channel FM/1 94102Z Servo $104.99 Towers

Futaba 3PM 3-Channel FM/No Servos $119.99 Towers

Let me know which one you would choose, If you know another brand or type that is less that $150 or so let me know , Links would be helpfull ......

So FM 75MHZ would free me from the 27mhz diaster I have here correct?

If you're worried about freq conflict, consider 2 options.
1. Spread spectrum. That's the 2.4 GHz stuff. Spektrum DX3 or the modules. Pretty much impossible to get hit on those.
2. FM Synth. Get something like a Futaba 3PK w/the synth module or a JR XS3 or XS3 Pro. And get compatible synth receivers. No crystals. Will come on 75 MHz and you can just dial in whatever frequency you want to use.

Should have no problem getting runtime with either of those.

Hey I found a Spektrum DX 2 system for 169.00 .....If I am running a revo with FOC then I would only need 2 channels right?....Is this a good deal or no?Should I save up a few more dollars and get a DX3?

Well I went and did it :) I got a NIB Spektrum DX3 on ebay for 202 shipped ....I think that was a pretty good deal , A buddy of mine picked up a DX3 at a local hobby shop today and I got to mess with it a lil ....Seems like a decent radio , it had a good feel to it , plus it has a bunch of features ....I appreciate all of the advise you all gave me on this .

So the 2 servo's that come with these radios , are they good for anything ?

Well your duddy and you will have no problem with interference. Spektrum is the latest craze and is just going to get bigger with time.

Shane Good choice In the new radio package..

And don't forget....There is no shame in playing with your duddy!:)

The only thing that makes it funny. Is if you have a sock puppet on your hand.

I race with a sock puppet on my hand.
Seriously, I have purchased a Spektrum DX3 (old style, they revamped the look). Someone told me they were total garbage, many problems with runaways, even after the "fix". I think it's bupkis. I am using it currently with my rc18t, but the main intention of getting it was more insurance when my Baja 5B comes in. I mean, 27mhz fm or not, you are just asking for trouble with a car that weighs 20 pounds.
So, anyway, I don't think you can go wrong with a Spektrum.
