I want to put a newer engine in my car. The flywheel on the new engine practically touches the carb. Also it wont fit like this in my car. I need to move it out about 3mm. How can i move it out? Is there a spacer or something?

If you have room between the outer clutch bell bearing and the end of the crank you just shim behind the beveled split cone to force the flywheel away from the block.
Don’t shim the outer bearing past the end of the crankshaft (should be slight play when the screw is tight).

Thanks. I have a 3mm crank extension, i just didnt know if you could shim 3mm behind the collet

You can but probably don't want to...you can always put a spacer on it if you have too much end-float.

Just curious...you are sure you got the right size flywheel?

BTW, is this for your Kyosho? That is super cool. I'm a newbie but have a deep appreciate for the old-skool guys....in addition to those hard-ass nitros back in the day. Let's see some pics. I'm intrigued with this build!

Were you using a separate engine mount on the old engine or the built in mounts in the engine block???

In a situation like you have you just have to get creative by either moving the flywheel forward. 3mm is not a lot (as long as you have sufficient threads for the flywheel nut), I’ve spaced them double that in some custom builds.
Otherwise you will need a different flywheel and/or a different style engine mount to move everything forward.

Thanks ill try the shims. The old one was using the built in mounts but the separate ones put it in the exact same place
