You may want to wait until Verizon is done with the strink to see how much the rates are going to go up before going to them if you are considering them.

I might look into that one as well, bgb.
I know Verizon is on strike right now, so I'm sure the rates will go up.

I don't care about paying for a phone. I just want a good one. I'm even considering the iphone, but I don't know much about it other than it's very highly rated among users. 4 1/2 stars everywhere I've looked.

i havent heard anything good about the iphone ...all the people i know who had them found them pretty cool at first ..but most of them had to change them within a year ....android phones are better if you ask me ...even the lady ( iphone owner )at Telus was impressed by the android phone i got ..she was reading the specs and said ''''wow ..this looks like its as good as my iphone ..if not better ''''....mine is a Motorola ..and i love it so far ...i have nothing to complain about it ...i can even make free calls over WIFI ..so no long distance fees ;)

This is unbelievable!!!

I had no cell phone service today. None in, none out, so I called ATT to ask why. I have automatic withdrawal from my account, and I got the text that it was paid 2 days ago.
I was showing someone something in the phone, and 3 times I started to connect to the internet (which is not part of my plan) and I hit the disconnect button. Then I got a text that I would be charged $00.01 for the call. Well, it happened 3 times, so my account was 3 cents short and they shut me off.
I had been paying $60 for unlimited talk and text, and after getting it all straightened out, she said it won't happen again since unlimited internet is now included in my plan.

$50.00!!!!!

For $10 LESS, I will now get more. Absolutely insane trying to figure out how they calculate these stupid phone plans.

I've had T-Mobile for some time now and love it, but we'll see what happens after the merger dust settles. I had Verizon for a long time, very good company, but T-Mobile smart phone support is the best I've come across yet. Sat and talked about different ROMs last time I called. We are on the even more plus plan, which is a discounted no contract plan that you pay full price for the phone on, but can finance one if you wanted. My biggest piece of advice is look at used phones on Craig's list before signing a contract. Most phone companies have no contract plans where you supply the phone or pay full price. I can buy a galaxy S vibrant for 150ish used or 500 new. No brainstorm if you know enough about phones to know its working right.

I'm happy with it and not having to worry about a contract makes it much better. As i said my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Prevail (Droid Based) and i paid 180 for it. Does all i need it to do. I wont ever sign a contract again, for any service. I've been screwed too many times...

I just paid 200 with tax and got the LG Thrive. I'll stay with AT&T since the service is only $50, and I get a WHOLE lot of percs and apps with this one.

LOL, I've yet to see anyone "have" to change out their iPhone within a year. As far as the Android vs. IOS thing, it's just like the PC vs. Mac thing, just buy what you want and what suits your needs. Personally, I love my jailbroken iPhone, and when it dies, I'll be buying another.

This is the one I got, the LG Thrive Android smart phone.

Hmm.. kinda doubt it. The strike only concerns there line based business. Their wireless business is not involved. If they are organized like many big companies they essentially treat the different entities as completely seperate businesses. I wouldn't put a paycheck on the line, but I doubt wireless customers would see any hikes due to their employee issue. Wireless shareholders would probably sell a bit if they tried to even it out in that manner. That would certainly upset many wireless customers enough to leave and losing customers is not something shareholders want to hear about.

It wouldn't surprise me if Verizon soon becomes the owner of AT&T.

The user guide that comes with the phone just gets you started. I had to go to the site and print out a 94 page manual to figure out how to work the thing. :hehe:

My Samsung from Boost came with a beginners manual that was 500 pages:hehe:

Rolex, We had great service from Verizion while back in Ft. Knox watching my kid for Basic training

Parts of New York, where I used to live, have now been without Verizon phones and internet service for 5 days now since the talks have stalled.
