I think the police have a lot to do with that also. They kind of frown on people like Rolex riding around on bikes with no pants....

Kinda strange you mention the police. Our local bike cop squad was in the shop today to get some goodies so they will be ready for the year.

What brand are they running? Gotta' be one of the best.

This is the one my friend just got. It's the Rocky Mountain Whistler 30.

Napa city police ride Treks as well.

My 8 year old son just graduated from a smaller Diamond Back to a Haro 200.1. I was looking at Target for a new bike for him and the saw a LBS down the street. Much better quality and service and they told me to bring it back in 3 months for a free tune up or if it needs any replacement parts, they will take care of it for free as well! to my LBS and they now have my future business! As for your buddy spending $825 for his new bike, that seems like a pretty good price and still cheaper than getting into RC!:D

He's REALLY happy with it. He's spent many hours on it in the couple of days he's had it. Yesterday he bought a new seat for it. Tush cush. :hehe:

Speaking of which, I really need a new seat for my bike as well.

Well, folks, today he's walking around with an arm in a sling. Seems he got slammed by a kid on a skateboard with earbuds on. He didn't suffer a clean break, but fractured one of the bones close to the elbow. He also got his helmet scratched up. Good news for his head.

Time for a new helmet. They're only good for one hit! Glad to hear he's sort of alright though.

Better a kid on a skateboard than a car. I know from personal experience. Glad he's somewhat okay.

It's sure making me think twice about mine. I might part with it as is or do a full resto and make a few bucks.

Or you could get its own hermetically-sealed case and only take it out to wax it like you do your Savvy....
