i am about to get my first nitro car..after reading countless forum responses i have decided on the nitro tc3 as the car to get . Can someone post everything I will need to get the car running I plan on buying the kit version and a Jr Xs3 radio and I am still undecided on the engine(Prob. a OS because so many people on this forum have said they are really easy to tune and get running and i am a newb. ) Does the kit come with a header and pipe? Thanks in advance for any help...

Hey chewy... The kit version can accomodate both rear or side exhaust. Just pick the engine you want then pick the kit that fits your mill as the kit can only work with one type...If you get a side exhaust then choose the kit that accomodates the side and so forth for the rear exhaust. I have the NTC3 and have both types of headers since I have both types engines. It all depends on the driver.. I mean the mill. You want a reliable engine and there are many. My favs are the MT12 and the OS .12TR. Try and stick to slide carbs as they have more of a linear power band. The off the line power is more instant..IMO. You are already getting a pretty good radio and great kit. The engine is your last stop. Oh yeah...pull start or Bump start? Most people will tell you the Non-pull start ( BUMP start) since there is no pull start and one way bearing to slow down the engine. I think I will get a pull start mill the next time around just so I don't always have to lug around my starter box.

So what you need ...

1.) The kit--- You decided
2.) The Radio --You decided
3.) Engine-- NEED TO DECIDE
4.) Starter box for Non-pull start engines ---The choice for #3 will decide whether you get this or not.
5.) All the other basics-- after run oil, Gas , charged ignitor and a body since the kit doesn't come with one.

Please anybody let me know If I left anything out!! GOOD LUCK!:marshall:

JON is there any benefit to pull start vs. Bump start and also is there any major difference between the side * rear exhaust..Check you pm also...

Ok Pull start pro's and cons... with a pull start you can just lug your ride and startit anywhere aslong as your engine is tuned right. Bump starts are good for ones who want to achieve better speeds but not that much. Pullstarts eventually break so it's upto you!Ask christian or Nitroaddict on the rear exhaust vs the side exhaust. The'll give you a better answer
