I am looking at a few different RC cars to purchase one being the (traxxas 1/16 EREVO) another is (team associated rc18t2) what do you guys think would be better I’m trying to get one that I can continue investing in ex. Upgrading parts and making it faster etc if I get the traxxas can I make it crazy fast if I put hundreds and hundreds into it as time goes by?

Hi, I'm pretty new, but if you want something that's going to stand the test of time, and upgrading for a few years as you go, I'd say traxxas is probably your best bet. As far as parts and availability go, at least, as far as I can see. Any good hobby grade RC should serve you well if you plan on investing in it, so I would say go with the ones known for durability. Like traxxas, or WLToys. I lean towards WLToys more right now for many reasons, like giving out several and upgrading several to get my own little rc community going. I couldnt afford that if I chose traxxas!

Just my 0.02 cents. If you enjoy working on them, then really you just need to pick the chassis and tires you like and build the rest from there to cater to your goals.

Both are good choices, but the traxxas may have the most choices.

Hey thanks for the reply I appreciate it, I didn’t think about it till you said it about building one from the chassis I might just do that now...I want to get into racing them this summer going to look into where they do have races and what not but thanks again

the 1/16 scale revo would be a ok choice you are going to try and make a 1/16 scale a speed demon... and it really wont cost you the 100's you can go all out or you can go the more economical way... I have a losi half 8 its a 125mph car thats it any faster it takes flight.stainless cvds. 3 cell 540 brushless heli 45 amp esc. 1/10 scale foams ca dipped(most everything I put on car was used except the cvds...Id check the arrma brand of rc..

Of the two you mentioned I would choose the 1/16 E REVO. It can be run on a variety of surfaces, parts are easily available, it's durable and Amy be water resistant. I have attached a youtube video done by a regular guy who gives it a good test.
