Hey, I think I fried my throttle servo on my Losi 8ight RTR. It just stopped working while I was driving it. Went back to idle and I couldn't get any gas or breaking action out of it. The steering servo was still working just fine. It was the servo that came with the rig when I bought it new a few months ago. Any suggestions for a new one betweem $60 and $80? I don't live close to any tracks so I don't get to them all that often. Just light bashing and jumping with this one. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

also call or email losi ... they sent me a new JR heavy duty servo and the o rings that they use to cushion the entire plate, and they sent it for free.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna call them tomorrow to see what, if anything they can do. I charged my battery for an hour after this happened and still the same issue. Steering working like a champ, throttle/brake, dead. I've heard that 8ight RTR has had problems with that servo the way it's set up. I adjusted it as indicated in the material that it came with but it seems the adjustment wasn't enough. Thanks for the help guys. Have a good rest of your night...

They normally use a lighter duty servo the t/b duties and they typically don't last long.

A good replacement would be a JR Z590M, Z650M or even cheaper would be a JR Sport ST126MG. It has the same specs as the 650M, but is considerably cheaper.

I have found that a metal gear/higher torque servo lasts longer for pretty much anything. Especially for throttle/brake. Considering how much you strain them all the time with MT's to hold the brakes.

Looking at the docs for the 8ight RTR, it appears to have the Z270 which is just a standard plastic geared servo. Any of the 3 above will be a great improvement and won't break the bank.

i will pretty much guarantee that they send you the JR Z590M torque race servo with the metal gear. that is what they sent me (i have not installed it because my LHS was cool enough to give me a freebie replacement that is still good AND a backup spektrum), but this is my backups backup, lol. they also sent it priority, so i had minimal downtime.

Hey everyone,

All great information. I really appreciate the detailed responses. With all of your info I'll definitely be able to make the right decision soon, and get the car up and running again in no time... I'm not completely new to this hobby but this is the first time I've had to replace a servo and with soo much out there to choose from I thought it best to check in on this forum first. I knew I'd get good info from everyone here. Have a great week everyone and thanks again!!!
