Well i have the paint i wanna use and I'm getting a airbrusgh in the next few days along with a Cadilac EXT body for my maxx. The colors i have are Pearl white and pearl dark blue and i wanna do a fade from white pearl in the front to the blue in the back but have no clue on how to do a fade i need some help cause i want it to come out semi-good oh and also should i put like a clear coat of laquer or something on over the paint job after for protection or will the paint be fine

Sounds like you're off to a good start. You have all the supplies and now it's just getting the guts up to have at that body. Well, first thing I might suggest is a little practice. Take an empty 2 liter soda bottle and cut it in half long wise. Clean it up good and attempt your paint job on half of it. That way if you tank it, you don't ruin a good body. Do it as many times as you need to so that you're confident in what you're doing. Fades are really easy once you get the feel for the airbrush. It just takes a little bit to get the hang. So practice. And for your reading pleasure, go to www.rctech.net and look for the painting article by HauntedMyst. It will give you tons of info.

umm i havent touched that airbush of mine since i sent it back to the company but the best way to fade is to practice it but i can only say go quicker as you do to the end of the fade as this will get very little paint making thr made I'm doing a computer case on tuesday try to get some pictures of my technique... i never do have a technique to my paint i just free my mind of any thoughts... not alot to clear in the first place as for the protection a coat of lacquer or a very thin coat of auto clear would help alot

Do not use laquer to seal the paint! Use something like Parma fascoat after you finish painting. Read the article by HauntedMyst that Candyman mentioned, it is great, probably the best tutorial on painting rcs out there.

That color combo sounds really nice. Remember to paint from dark to light.

i dunno if its just me but i can't find the thread you guys are talking about in the painting/graphics forum
