What up guys?
After 2yrs? with very little use, my POS Bosch hammer drill bit the dust
Maybe drilled 20 holes? I first used it I didn't need the VSR. That was gone to start with. Next was the "1-2 transmission." I was drilling a hole for a 1/4 tapcon and the gear box messed up.
Next time I used it.... It won't even work!!!

Last time with any Bosch tool. I'll never own another.
Shop had a B&D that lasted longer.

Now for my question.
I'm looking at a Milwaukee hammer drill http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/milwauk...ltage&prefv1=120V&prefn2=condition&prefv2=new
What do ya think?

Got any good websites for tools?
Any suggestions?

The Milwauke is a decent HD. The Dewalt is also decent in that price range.

Would that be Beckley WV by any chance? My old stomping grounds...

Sure would be WV. Get ragged on all the time about being from the "hills." :p:

Had a few Dewalt tools. That was my next choice, but the reviews aren't very good.
Need a good on-line place to deal with.

Any other brands? Where do ya buy from?

Dealt and Milwaukee are great choices. Battery technology has come a long way as we all know. I use the Milwaukee 28 volt line for the big stuff and just recently got a 12v drill impact driver and multi tool. All work great. You need at least 18v I see dewalt released a brushless line of tools. I always get from eBay but check your local stores. Home depot beat out eBay hands down on the 12v stuff

The Milwaukee 12v setup is a beast.
I bought the combo and it has never disappointed. Even ran in lag bolts for an attic ladder without predrilling.

If zorotools has what you need then let me know. I have a 25% off coupon. No limit.

Had good experience with DeWalt except for the price of their batteries...

Dewalt is good and has used to be my brand of choice. However recently, I switched to Ridgid. A lot of guys I work with have used Ridgid with no problems. Also Ridgid is offering a lifetime service agreement when purchased through Home Depot. The service agreement covers everything including batteries.

I have that milwaukee hammer drill. Its been a great drill and I've had it for 10 years now. Used it to drill all the anchor holes in concrete and brick wall to build our big deck between the two sections of our house. Plus for several other task. One being holes thru a semi trailer frame for mounting a spare tire rack. That was a hell of a task in itself. It killed one dewalt 18v cordless drill before i broke out the milwaulkee.

That's what I want to hear! I have had a Makita 3/8 drill for 25 years. It has definitely seen it's share of abuse. Starting to show it's age now though. Use it very much and it get's almost too hot to touch. Chuck is starting to slip. But I can't complain about it. I've always heard Bosch tools were good. Man that was a disappointment. Never again!

Woodie, use the hell out of that drill. Some of the reviews aren't very good. One guy taking it back within a month. http://www.lowes.com/pd_227967-70-DW511_0__?productId=1168343&Ntt=hammer+drils

I'm not very impressed with Dewalt. Got a grinder I bought for my use at the shop about to go after 4 months? The few Metabo grinders we have are great. I never heard of those before I worked here, but I would recommend them. http://www.metabo.us/Product-catalog.23976+M50eb3754be4.0.html
