Hey all

Well I let my brother in law try my Revo and he liked it, so for his birthday I decided to get him a little truck to start with. I ended up getting a HSP 1/16 nitro truck, I didn't want to spend more in case he didn't really get into the hobby. I am breaking it in for him so we can bash when I give it to him on the weekend. I have however noticed bubbles coming from the glow plug once the motor is running.

I took out the plug and put it back in but the bubbles are still there, any idea how to stop them or is that normal for some engines? My Revo and Savage don't do that.

Thanks

Barry

make sure there is the copper washer under the plug if its missing thats your problem right there

also whilst its running gently tighten it up once its got to running temp

do not over-tighten it as you will risk damaging the thread in the button head

Thanks, I took the plug out again and put it back, now no more bubbles :) However breaking it in seems to be a PITA. For the life of me I just can't get the car to idle, it will run for about 10 seconds max then stop, and to get it started again I have to prime it by holding my finger over the exhaust :( Any ideas?

you can loosen the glow plug a little to help start it then tighten it up when its running

make sure your idle gap in the carb is about 1mm as your breaking it in it may need to be a little bigger

also check your fuel lines & tank for any leaks

Thanks again, will try that, weird though, never had any issues with my Revo and Savage. Guess it is true, you get what you pay for :) I must admit though, I am turning into a fan of the pull start, 1 less thing to charge and carry around.
