Running narrow 2.2" tires has been an interesting project. Here is a short clip we just posted up showing how well they grip the rock and work difficult lines. While not an inexpensive tire, they bring a level of precision not commonly found with larger 2.2" tires.

I really like the look of the narrow tires on there. While being more nimble, do you feel like you had less traction? Looked like they performed well, But you you know yor rigs and the course.

Excellent questions and something we discussed in detail. Where the narrow 2.2" shines is in tight, technical terrain. When compared to the larger but similar 2.2" JConcepts Rupture, their advantage is specific in that arena. As for large, smooth slabs, they are no better and no worse than the larger Ruptures. For light-weight crawlers, the Goats are excellent, but if you have a heavier machine, then a larger tire is better suited.

With that said, providing a frame of reference, our Ryft 2.2" crawler outperforms the Capra by a small margin all across the board, and the big 2.2" Ruptures are part of that equation. Honestly, the 2.2" Ryft build is a fantastic crawler.
