I have been working on a track for my Rc's for the past couple weeks and this is a few pics of the progression so far. So far weve removed a few rocks that were hella huge and had to be winched out by 3 forewheelers..lol.. next I just have to add the jumps, but I wanted to get it fairly smooth get the shape good before I did that. Plans are a few 4-5 foot jumps and a few good hard burms.. anyway heres some of the pics. lemme know what ya think and give me your suggestions. Thanks!!

here you can see a couple of the medium sized rocks we had to pull out. Notice that the tracks narrowist point is 6 and a half feet wide..lol..the track covers at least a full acre of land. I behind this track I also have a full runway for my rc planes. gotta love it!

It won't be long before you'll want to make it wider. Smoother is what you'll want as soon as you start running on it. The local track has chains to a steel I-beam that gets dragged sideways behind a quad. It takes off the high spots and fills in the low.

Track "Prozac"
Do we all have to go the same speed?

Sorry about craping on your thread.
Your track looks great,I'm jealous.
What time is the BBQ and directions please.

I've just been workin on gettin it as level and smooth as possible for now. The jusmps will be coming soon enough though! It used to be a cow pasture so its VERY bumpy, rocky and lots of stick and crap around it. BBQ and beer this weekend.. Bring the shovel :) Ill be sure to keep ya posted!

Also Keep in mind that I'm a lone basher. Noone in my area seems to have Nitro. (Otherwise I just smell or something..lol) So I always bash by myself. I have spectators ALWAYS but never another truck to rip with. :(

Once I get er done, Everyones welcome to come and bash with me!!!

I'm sure somebody will buy a car once they see there is a track in the area, good work

Thanks! And I hope so. Honestly I thought someone would have by now as to whenever I fire up a Nitro all the neighbors come over to watch, but noone wants to spend the money to get there own....cheap basterds...lol...Thanks again for the props. Ill keep everyone informed on the future progress.

I'm guessing you really mean CRAP!!! Since it used to be a cow pasture...

Looks good. What are you driving on it for RC? It may not be a bad idea to get a mower out there as well and mow that crap in the middle and around the track down so it's real short. If your parents don't care about dead grass, then mow it real short. But, if there are more rocks in there, be careful...

Even though you are going to end up with a nice track, you will more than likely not always be where you "should" be. So it would be nice to not have to go pick up your truck when it's sitting in 4 feet of weeds and grass.

Just a thought. But you would probably be doing that as you get closer to finished anyway.

looks cool but with it so big you will need a nice tall drivers stand to be able to see the whole thing

It should cross in a figure-8 and have at least 1 jump over a fire pit. J/K, I would suggest a tight S turn section, and maybe kill the grass in the middle for visibility and to make it easier to re-arrange occasionally for variety.

That looks way spread out, and picking cow poop off of your truck.... ewwwwwwwww. But, nice job, I wish I had a track.

lol..Nah I'm not a farm kid. I live in the sticks, but not on a farm. The track is back in a pasture that we used to rent out, but there hasnt been cows in there for like 4 years, so the cow poo isnt to much of a issue. As for the grass in the middle, it was probably about 3-4 feet tall and me and my cousin (In the pic of dragging the track) weed wacked all the grass down. We can't mow in there because its full of rocks and stumps. I think I'm gonna spray some weed killer and crap on it, but Id imagine itd take a few dozen bottles..lol.. I'm actually not to worried about it. It only about 6 inches tall TOPS right now and is patchy (The pics it looks ALOT thicker than it is. Because it has all the dead grass we cut down earlier that day on it.) We are also making a podium type stand so a person can't stand and see the whole track. We have a preatty tyte S curve in there already. Just again hard to take a pic of without being above it. Once I get the podium built up where I can get a good range of the actual lay out Ill post it up. Its always hard to see depth in pictures.
Ill also be rippin around on it with my maxx with a .21 in it (he he) and a Rc10Gt. Should work out preatty slick. I just gotta get some good weather were I can get the bobcat back there without gettin buried..lol

Wait until the jumps get in there, then it wont look so spread out. Also no cow poo on the track or in the center. In the center I thinK i gonna burn it to thin it out even more once it dries out a bit.

Just figured you were considering the surroundings...

That would probably work better than weed killer. To bad you aren't a farm kid though, anhydrous would keep it clear for a few years... if you use enough.

Once you start running your truck on it it will flaten out.We built a track in our cousin back yard...but had to take it down because of land lord. :( Anyways it would be nice to have a little gap jump.We had one of my cousins. If you hit it worng you flew into a wooden fence that was on the left hand side of it.And if you hit it to slow your truck would get stuck in the gap, unless it was a Maxx or Savage. At the time I only had a Stampede and I got stuck in it many times. We also had and incline wall turn.So we could hit it with full speed and turn and we would swoop around...pretty fun.On each side of the track we had a little hump of dirt that we painted orange so we could see better. We also had a little ditch that was kinda like a pot hole that you had to avoid for a little excitment...and we just stood on his porch and messed around...untill we wrecked that is. :smoke: By the way nice track post some pics when you get some jumps. :)

Good Luck,
