The other night I ordered my Slash 4x4 PE from stormer hobbies and I am waiting right next to my mail box for UPS to show up with it this week. I just wanted to know what are some things I should do, or buy right from the start so that I don't have any casualties on the first run. I know that RPM a-arms will becoming soon when I get some money together, but for night I need to buy a 2s LiPo for racing. I will post pics here when I get it.

Congrats! You made a good choice.

The 4x4 Slash is a killer rig, I love mine! You also did good starting with the PE, I have the non PE but I currently adding all the hop ups that the PE comes with.

Thanks man, I struggles to decide between this or the Ofna Hyper 10SC an putting the mamba max system in it, but wanted the slash for durability and parts wise..

Yea, both are great trucks, but my grandpa was paying, and on stormer hobbies, the PE is $10 cheaper than the rtr.. Kind of weird right? PE is $249, RTR is $259... I think they screwed up and I took advantage of it.. ahhah

Make sure you take some precautions...

Try to cover the underside, where the center drivetrain is visible. Little rocks tend to get in there, and wear away at your rod. Also, I've had pebbles get in my slipper, and prevent adjustments, etc. For gearing, try 12/54 for racing. You could possibly gear it up a little, depending on your mains and qualifiers lengths. Tires for racing, go with either AKA Enduros, or Proline Calibers. They're my 2 favorite tires. For indoor, the Jconcepts Goosebumps, or the AKA Wishbones. Some common things to look out for are...the center drive hub, towards the front. They give you a plastic one, and it strips out pretty easily. I believe they make an aluminum upgrade now. Your sway bar kit will be a great addition, as will the center diff for racing. You'll notice a big difference over the standard slipper, on a track at least. I didn't have any problem at all with breaking A-Arms personally, so if I were you, and you don't currently have any lipos.. I'd get 1 or 2 2s lipos, and a nice charger. Check out hobbyking.com for great prices on lipos. They're cheap, and effective! I've ran their 4S Flightmaxx lipos in my 1/8 buggy for a month now, many runs on each, and haven't had a problem at all, runtime wise for qualifers, or mains. Good luck with racing! :D

Yea, right now the truck is scheduled for delivery for next week on thursday... What do you mean the front drive hub? and the a-arms, I'm only gonna upgrade them as they break. I have a Passport LiPo charger, but soon I would like to get a little better one with a nice LCD screen on it. A far as tires, the block tread works better than the pin, on my track at least.. I may buy a set of calibers, and a set of bow-ties to try out.

I believe that is what it is called; anyway, it is the piece that connects the front differential to the center drivetrain.
